Got a feeling that Preston might have had a much harder game than the roosters as well as one less day to recover.
The roosters could either overun them in the second half after a tight first half or jump them from the start and carve them up early.
Preston's first GF for 25 years should be intersting.
Looking back to the late 90s Preston might have been playing in the Diamond Valley had Trarlgon opted to stay put in the VFL.
They were given a repreive when Traralgon left the VFL to go back to the Latrobe Valley. Must admire the ants in the first few seasons in the revamped comp from 2000 under Mark Williams when standalone. Very competitive most weeks.
They bascially have no option as they have not much funds and had to align.
They could be a standalone but would need major funds.
Don't mind the old Preston FC but I cannot have a bar of Carlton. They are not as bad as the filth but still cannot stomach them.
Will be there on Friday and be full on cheering the chooks.

North Ballarat BACK to BACK !!!

Digs you will have some extra supporters there on Friday night including some Port Melbourne and Williamstown fans.
Thre will be a crew standing near Aisle 31.

Still hasn't really sunk in that the Bullants are in the grand-final and probably won't until well after the season has finished. Personally I can't stomach any proposals to 're-brand' the club as the Blues. Success is the greatest brand, a premiership to go along with the improved finacial position off the field is what the club needs right now.

We did have a nice draw and that made it easier to finish in the top four, nonetheless the finals performances have been outstanding and a reflect a team that is playing premiership football.

Nth Ballarat have a stronger list than last year and will be a formidable opponent. I wouldn't read too much into the recent form between the two sides, the present Nth Ballarat side is stronger and a few of the Bullants wins have come in heavy conditions.

Bullants you have done a good job this season to reach the GF for the first time in 25 years since the halycon years when Preston were a super power.
I had a look at a game on tape a few weeks back which was a Sandringham v Preston game from 1984 played at Beach Road Oval. It was a channel 0/10 game and the ants won by a staggering 150 points.
The quality of footy played in those days was second to none.
Fast, tough, skilful and very direct.
Preston do have a great recent record against the roosters but the roosters look too acomplished with a very good forward line as well as a hard at it run through the middle. Winning last years GF at the Docklands will be a big bonus for North Ballarat. Intersting to see how Yarram goes this week after his unbelievable game last week. He would be suited at the Docklands I would say.

George I wish you hadn't mentioned that game but the Bullants had a good team that season. The Zebs rallied the next year '85 to win the flag though.
This Friday night match should be pretty tough footy as both teams move the ball quickly.
No doubt Fitzy has had experience at this level lately and this should be a telling factor in the finish.
