Good to see some positive talk Paul and Dolphin unlike Frankstonboy.
Maybe a bit premature to make early predications
You will have to wait until the (1) final team lists of the dolphins which maybe be decided in March, (2) to see how the new young kids mainly from the stingrays measure up, (3) see how Goosey goes as coach and how the players play for him, (4) also depends on the makeup of the opposition teams.
At least the dolphins can try get their finances on track over the next 2 seasons and stay fairly competitive.
Frankstonboy. Your are a wanker, again you have your facts wrong as paul has noted a hand full will leave as for Grant he was sacked and since he was sacked has done nothing but bag the club and tell lies in the media,as you are doing now, as a regular drinker, supporter and member of the club i take offence to you bagging the club like you do. the clubs trying to get back on track and its dickheads like you that say they are frankston bagging everyone. As for you frankston boy you should change your name to the club you follow because its not Frankston & if this is how you treat your club dont come back next year the club will be better off

Pretty much sums it all up.

Frankstonboy is not a Frankston supporter. I think he barracks for the filth. The dolphins do not need filthy supporters.
One way or the other, Frankston had best get their act together off the field as soon as possible. There are plenty of guys looking for a footy home at the moment and the ND is not far away. That gives them an opportunity to impress and attract the sort of young, talented player that could take them somewhere. But that will only work if the guys think everything at Frankston is headed in the right direction.
At this point, that is a hard sell: players leaving and disharmony in the background are lethal.
I don't know what is going on there: I no longer have any inside goss. However, Frankston MUST come across as a united club with a clear vision, or the recruits will stay away.
With the number of losses, they will need to attract some talent and not just depend on the boys from the Stingrays. There is a fair amount available in the guys leaving AFL clubs. I wouldn't bother with too many older players, but some guys on the younger side, especially if they were good clubmen or showed on field leadership.
If they can get a decent crop of Stingrays and attract a couple of other U18's, then they can make up the ground. But guys like Berry and Marigliani are serious losses.
I heard a whisper on Saturday night that there could be a big announcement from Frankston coming up...possibly re sponsorship...my source was very tight lipped knowing I support Sandy and wouldn't elaborate...I kept plugging away for information to see if it was a big signing as well...agian...a brick wall..
I take this person at their word as they are quite close to what happens at Frankston
Sandy. The most successful club in the past 30 years
Bag me and call me names as much as you like hey paul you said that 5 of the players i mentioned leaving arnt true then you go and name 7 yourself im only reporting what ive been told from people who are currently working at the club so whos right. As for however 241 one is mate your a dill calling people wankers everyone is entitled to a opinion the facts are they will struggle to win a game and this time next year ill post another forum to remind everybody that i was right it will be a battle of the wooden spoon between Franston and Bendigo.
People reporting that shannon grant was sacked are wrong he was told to take a pay cut and that they wouldnt be chasing players in the off season to save the club in the future and they agreed to part ways because shannon wanted to bring players in that he had teed up to play for next year trouble is he wanted to win and the board have said winning is not a priority next year.He has done the right thing leaving footy is about winning and being successful not unlike the board who arnt into winning at all.
See how many people they get through the gate next year hope they have a good sponsor teed up because they will need it.

Did that math myself, but couldn't be bothered raising it. ;)
As for sponsors, they lost about $50,000 worth straight up last year so if they need to pick up that much first before they make any impact.
Frankstonboy, whether I named one, seven or 37 people who are leaving, it doesnt changed the fact that 5 of the guys you mentioned are most likely to stay, and 3 are definitely staying.
You basically took reports from a newspaper rumour column and put them on here as fact to back up your assertion that the club is falling apart.
All I say to you is leave the club if yu are not happy, because there are many people working hard to keep it alive - and it will be much more competitive on the field this year than last.
You are correct that the board is not recruiting big name players. The truth is they dont need them to be competitive, Brett Lovett well and truly showed that.
Dolphin, as you would know, a lot will depend on how many games are in the season. But I imagine the club will save a fair bit on coaching particularly player payments next year given a couple of big names who have left, enough to cover the $50K.
