sandy 2010

just want to get other opinions on how sandy will go in 2010? I believe we will be in the finals for sure and maybe shake things up, we will have a bit of inexperience in the side, but it could work like the way essendon played in season 2009.

If you get the alignment with St.Kilda right you will be a force, though if its anything like this year.. No finals again I would suspect

Fair comment...plus we need to get some experience in the side...2004-05-06 we had a very experienced VFL list but the list needed to be turned over which didn't happen...North Ballarat have done what Sandy did...got a very very good VFL list going

Sandy. The most successful club in the past 30 years

yeah thats true, i think sandy will give a lot of younger players the chance to step up and play seniors and it could reveal some young fresh talent and if they do gel well with the st.kilda list anything could happen

Spot on Zebraman.
The Roosters make no secret of the fact that they copied the Zebra sides of earlier this decade and Springvale in the late nineteen nineties, both of whom had outstanding results from their VFL players, and look at the results that came from those great teams.
It's the only way to go rather than murdering good money on ex AFL rejects and hacks. Not too mention that dollar savings.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

too right digs, i see bendigo will be chasing ex-AFL players with their money due to no reserves. Its just not the way to go, bendigo got paul scanlon for 2009 who is a well established player plays for them and is a clear stand out every week over the AFL listed players. Sandy should look at TAC players, dominating young local players and also experienced local senior footballers

Frank-Stone

yeah experienced local players is the way to go i believe, build your list up with established senior local players instead of young ex-AFL rejects. Yeah stevo i agree sandy will have a lot of young players getting games in the seniors, lets hope they can open some eyes

stevo

yeah i love VFL clubs that are willing to give young kids a chance to prove themselves at the senior level

It will all come down to how the Stkilda palyers and coaches want to help Sandy and personally I dont think the give a stuff about the fortunes of the SFC.If they just use the Zebras as a development and reserves team then Sandtyare stuffed and no matter how many "good young local players step up' it wont make a scrap of difference to 2009.BTW the Sandy teams that won the flags had a lot of good ex AFL players in the sides.

stevo

sorry billy have to disagree, the saints players and coaching staff put a lot of time and effort into sandy and the players get involved in the club and really want to be apart of the success of sandringham, i understand that a lot of clubs dont give a stuff about their alignments a la essendon, but st.kilda do. But respect your comments

Stevo it was a learning year for both clubs although both had alignments with other clubs last year 08, so with different coaches and personal wanting the same thing to have a successful year it really only worked out for one team the senior club St. Kilda.
This year will be little different with more newer players coming and with reserve coach now assistant Sandy senior coach and last year assistant now reserve coach.
Changing seats may not sound much but Sandy have confidence in Paul and Steve to get the winning formula right.
