Hickmont gets my vote - hang on he got sacked, bugger I guess Fitz would be the next best choice.
as scary as it seems hickmont actually got promoted
Yeah..... good one.

Wonder no more, a little reliable birdy has told me back to back chookies coach has been given the state job, well done Fitz. :)

On other chook news,it looks like a gun midfielder and dual premiership player has flown the coup to Darwin, can't name him but not hard to work out who. :(

Gary Ayres.

Blokes will be keen to play for him and it will give the game a bit of good PR.

Ya not listening brekky, Fitzy has got the job.

Breaky,
Sorry to disappoint you mate, but I reckon there are about 3 or 4 ahead of Gary Ayres. Big names don't always make good coaches. Ayres was a great player with an outstanding record of achievements, but is still to greet the judge as far as reaching the coaching holy grail.
I know all the Port supporters will be on my case but Fitzy should be an automatic selection because of his record, only one blemish in state games, together with the last 2 VFL flags.
If they are looking for somebody to give some experience to, Peter German has good credentials & Brad Gotch has done the job before with some success. David Teague & Gavin Brown could also be considered from left field.
So what I am trying to say is "Don't get too excited about Gary Ayres." !!!!

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Yes Rooster on the money with Brett Goodes heading to Darwin according to todays Ballarat Courier.
He has been offered an indeginous development managers position at Katherine & will play with NT Thunder in the QAFL. He has been an outstanding player & person at the Roosters & everybody wishes him all the best.
As for the VFL coaching job I hope you are right about Fitzy, he really deserves the job. All at the Roosters hope that your info on the coach is correct because we will be starved of an interstate trip this year after many years & a trip to Perth would be an excellent substitute.

Diggsy, I'm with you on giving Fitzy the State team job as the last two premierships says it all. I will probably cop it from the rest of the Port faithful now.

Fitzy is definitely number one, but I fail to see how anyone but Ayres could be number two on the list.

A grand final and a prelimnary final in the past two years, as dominant as North Ballarat during the past two home and away seasons, the most successful two year stint ever by a stand alone VFL club under his watch.

Gotch has had good home and aways only to fail in both finals campaigns, German has only been in the VFL one year and did a very good job but didnt achieve something absolutely outstanding with his team. David Teague has done a good job and if he can repeat this year he would move up the table but he is not there yet.
