With our only division 1 premiership having been won in the hideous Hawthorn pre-season lightning bolt design,(http://boxhillhawks.com.au/multimedia/photos.aspx?GalleryId=10)and now this, it's a strugle to maintain the enthusiasm!

Pretty shabby treatment from Hawthorn buts whats new?Why even bother to call the club Box Hill anymor?

Disgusting.
Soon they will be called the Eastern Hawks and there will be no Box Hill name.
Pretty hard to get enthused Mustang when this happens.

How did you think I felt when Williamstown played in those filthy jumpers, were aligned to the scum and had that hideous song.

What's next Northern Blues, Craigieburn Tigers, Western Seagulls, Bayside zebras.
Give me a break. What was once a great traditional comp with suburban rivalry is changing with stupid names, stupid jumpers and a big afl influence.

How will the old Box Hill mustang failtful take this new jumper ?
Many of my mates from the east that were old stanger supporters lost interest when the Mustang went. If there was a flicker of any hope this would finally made them to completely lose all interest.

I nearly spewed. What are they thinking???
John Ure is a good fellow, but he won't win many friends over this.
Billy is right: The competition is ROOTED.

I've kept supporting the club, but I just don't feel anything anymore. Had a mate who jumped straight off board in 2000, he even reckons he went down to vandelise the the ground when he heard about the alignment; he hasn't come back. And one of my dad's friends, who played under 19's for the stanga's also lost interest at the same time. I fear they may have been right, but while the jumper was still running around, people seemed to still call them Stanga's, and there was still a Mustang front and centre on the guernsey. Now I know brown and gold aren't pretty, but I think it aint a bad jumper considering!

The first 2 years of the alignment, they wore a combination of the lightning bolt hawthorn jumper and a revamped Box Hill one with white number and weird back. Something that helped the year following the flag was the re-instated traditional Box Hill jumper. John Ure's being a shining light for all things Box Hill, he's kept whatever traditionality he could. I fear he's been pushed into this by Hawthorn and marketing people, cos it doesn't seem like Ure.

Let's just call them Eastern Rangers seniors or Hawthorn seconds and have done with it!

Digs summed it up

The jumper looks great if your a Hawthorn supporter. The horse should be bigger and on the back of the jumper it should read Box Hill, in thick white letters.

Terrible, Terrible Call by Box Hill.

I'll fire up about this in the Pre-Game show for Round 1.

A sad day for the Mustangs. Alignment has had little regard for culture and history.

This must really hurt Box Hill supporters. I recall when Port had there alignment with Sydney there was talk of us wearing the swans jumper......This made me feel quite ill. The jumper means so much to people in many different ways.

Theres nothing better than getting down to Port for me and smelling the soap factory and seeing that Red and Blue jumper.
