OK, I hate it.

But as is usually the situation around here the usual suspects have proved they can't read anything more complicated than a picture and would rather hurl abuse at Box Hill.

Ah, so it's an ALTERNATE jumper.

And Box Hill will continue to wear the Mustang jumper when it plays the old VFA Clubs.

So in 2010 Box Hill will wear it's old jumper 12 times and the new one only 6 times.

A bit different to the picture being painted on this thread.

Most Clubs have an ALTERNATE jumper so why shouldn't Box Hill be any different?

How many of you dills actually managed to read the article past the first sentence?

It is a slippery slope Mustang. This season it might only be 6 times, then next season 10 and so on.

Makes your team just look like the Hawthorn Reserves.

At least the traditional jumper will still be worn against the 'VFA' teams (and Stanga, i agree its a good jumper, although glad they dont still wear gold shorts like they did back in the '70's).

If its a genuine attempt at an alternative top to avoid clashes thats one thing, but I wouldnt be overly thrilled if Willy had to run out with blue with a red and white sash and a huge bulldog on thr front to avoid a clash with Sandy.

Anyway, its a crap design - just another one of those new age, messy efforts that look shocking.

StationHotel

just another knife into the old VFA we use to have and love.

If this ever happen to Port Melbourne i would just walk away from the whole compition.

It make me sick in 1997 i think they changed the strip and had a different jumper it didn't last long thank god.

A question for the Box Hill supporters if you had the money would you stand alone with out Hawthorn ? and if so what would happen to Hawthorn would they field there own team ?

Wally from Will...
Wally from Williamstown's picture

i remember that alternative Port jumper, looked like a red & blue barcode, as u say it didn't last long thank god.

Looks hidious!

But Box Hill did well to retain the old jumper for a decade without Hawthorn doing too much damage to it.

Mustang,
You can floss it up all you like, but the fact is that you are being dictated to by the might of Hawthorn.
It's time that the VFL clubs took a stand against these AFL clubs & stop getting pushed around in order to survive . Surely the aligned clubs need to maintain & drive a bit of their past tradition & history.

Well digs, as I said I don't like it but it will never qualify as the ugliest jumper in the VFL so long as you guys wear that technicolour jumper.

Anyway, it looks Box Hill is going to wear it for the first time against you guys in Round 4.

Maybe the Roosters can turn out in the vomit jumper and we can play for the Visual Pollution Cup? ;)

Mustang,
Could not agree more about the Roosters once a year strip, but it is not the bloody jumper. It's what going on when an AFL club can dictate to a great club like Box Hill when & what it will wear. Get some balls & stand up to them.
Can you imagine a Rooster jumper with a Kangaroo spread across the front. NEVER
Pretty shabby treatment from Hawthorn buts whats new?Why even bother to call the club Box Hill anymor?
You can't blame Hawthorn.

Without Hawthorn Box Hill would be gone, and would have been for 10 years.

You can't take the alignment and not expect to sacrifice something. If Box Hill were able to stand on their own, then Hawthorn wouldn't get a say. They can't stand on theior own, so they sacrifice freedom.

Simple.
