2010 Round 14 Preview
Body:

Here is the preview for Round 14

SATURDAY
Northern Bullants(8-5 6th) vs Williamstown(11-2 1st) at NAB Oval,Preston 1:10pm(ABC1TV)
(Reserves curtain raiser starts at 10:10am)
Last time they met: 2009 2nd Qualifying Final at Williamstown. Northern Bullants 11-12(78) def Williamstown 6-13(49).
The Seagulls continued on their winning ways with a comfortable win over Coburg while the Bullants had a good win over Werribee away last Saturday Night. This should be a great game with the Seagulls looking to maintain top spot while the Bullants need to win to stay in touch with the top 4. Williamstown in a tight one.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Nth Bull 32-18-2(3rd) Will 35-17(1st)
1st Quarter: Nth Bull 8-4-1(3rd) Will 8-5(4th)
2nd Quarter: Nth Bull 7-6(6th) Will 11-2(2nd)
3rd Quarter: Nth Bull 9-3-1(2nd) Will 6-7(9th)
4th Quarter: Nth Bull 8-5(4th) Will 10-3(1st)
My Tip: Williamstown by 7pts

Bendigo Bombers(6-7 8th) vs Werribee(3-9-1 11th) at Tannery Lane Oval,Strathfieldsaye 1pm
Last time they met: Rd 20 2009 at QEO,Bendigo. Werribee 25-16(166) def Bendigo Bombers 10-11(71).
Bendigo were 40pts up at half time against Gold Coast in Cairns before getting beaten on the last kick while Werribee were beaten by the Bullants at home. The Bombers need to win to otherwise their spot in the 8 will be in jeopardy and combined with Essendon's performance last week it is a huge game for the Bombers. Werribee have been improving in recent weeks and this could be a big chance for an upset.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Bendigo 27-24-1(8th) Werr 15-35-2(13th)
1st Quarter: Bendigo 6-6-1(7th) Werr 4-8-1(13th)
2nd Quarter: Bendigo 7-6(4th) Werr 5-8(12th)
3rd Quarter: Bendigo 7-6(8th) Werr 3-10(13th)
4th Quarter: Bendigo 7-6(5th) Werr 3-9-1(13th)
My Tip: Werribee by 3pts

Port Melbourne(9-4 5th) vs North Ballarat(11-2 2nd) at TEAC Oval 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser starts at 11am)
Lat time they met: 2009 1st Qualifying Final at Eureka Stadium. North Ballarat 15-8(98) def Port Melbourne 6-14(50).
Port had a good win over the Scorpions away last week while North Ballarat shugged off a determined Dolphins outfit at home. North Ballarat still have some players to get back into the side before the finals so they will improve but at home I think the Borough will win a tight one.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Pt Melb 29-23(6th) Nth Ball 34-17-1(2nd)
1st Quarter: Pt Melb 6-7(8th) Nth Ball 9-4(2nd)

My Tip: Port Melbourne by 2pts

Gold Coast(3-9-1 12th) vs Sandringham(5-8 9th) at Cookes-Murphy Oval,Labrador 2:10pm
1st meeting between these 2 sides
Gold Coast will be buoyed by their com from behind win against Bendigo while Sandy had a slip up against the Hawks. Sandy go to Queensland knowing this is a huge game as a win is needed to stay in touch with the top 8. Gold Coast now have some real confidence and I think they can make it 2 in a row.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Gld Cst 17-33-2(12th) Sand 24-28(9th)
1st Quarter: Gld Cst 6-7(10th) Sand 7-6(6th)

My Tip: Gold Coast by 11pts

SUNDAY
Frankston(1-12 14th) vs Box Hill Hawks(7-6 7th) at Frankston 2pm(3WBC)
(Reserves curtain raiser starts at 2pm)
Last time they met: Rd 17 2009 at Frankston. Box Hill Hawks 13-8(86) def Frankston 11-11(77).
Frankston have been competitive the last 2 weeks against 2 of the top sides. The Hawks are coming off a good win against the Zebras. The Hawks form this has been very inconsistent it may depend on which Hawks side turns up at Frankston on Sunday.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Fston 13-39(14th) BHH 31-21(4th)
1st Quarter: Fston 2-11(14th) BHH 10-3(1st)

Coburg Tigers(4-9 10th) vs Geelong(3-10 13th) at Highgate Recreation Reserve,Craigieburn 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser Coburg Tigers vs Werribee starts at 11am)
Lat time they met: Rd 14 2009 at Skilled Stadium. Geelong 12-17(89) def Coburg Tigers 10-12(72).
Coburg will throughly beaten by the Seagulls while Geelong were comfortably beaten by the Pies. Geelong are out of finals contention but Coburg need a win here to keep the finals hopes alive. This should be a great game.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Coburg 23-28-1(10th) Geelong 23-29(11th)
1st Quarter: Coburg 6-7(9th) Geelong 5-8(12th)
2nd Quarter: Coburg 7-6(7th) Geelong 8-5(3rd)
3rd Quarter: Coburg 4-8-1(11th) Geelong 4-9(12th)
4th Quarter: Coburg 6-7(10th) Geelong 6-7(9th)
My Tip: Coburg Tigers by 5pts

Collingwood(9-4 4th) vs Casey Scorpions(10-3 3rd) at Victoria Park 2pm
(Reserves curtain raiser Casey Scorpions vs Sandringham starts at 11am)
Lat time they met: Rd 2 2010 at Casey Fields. Collingwood 13-22(100) def Casey Scorpions 13-12(90).
This is the match of the round. These 2 sides played a great game back in Round 2 and this should be a classic. The Scorpions had a stumble against the Borough last week while the Pies had a good win against the Cats. Collingwood to win at home narrowly.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Coll 29-20-3(5th) Casey 27-23-2(7th)
1st Quarter: Coll 7-4-2(5th) Casey 5-7-1(12th)

3rd Quarter: Coll 8-5(6th) Casey 9-4(3rd)
4th Quarter: Coll 6-6-1(7th) Casey 6-6-1(8th)
My Tip: Collingwood by 4pts
