before any one shoots me down, North Ballarat outplayed the Scorpions particularly in the 2nd and 3rd and I would suggest would have probably won regardless of the umpires.

However, some of the decisions that were made, particularly against the Scorpions were laughable. Bennel denied a goal after running into an open one for 'running too far' all of 9 or 10 metres. A couple of decisions against miller which were ignored all over the field other then when Miller went to take a grab, 2 of which resulted in direct turnovers and coast to coast goals. Some decisions that handed the Roosters the footy across half forward. They were disgraceful.

Now as I said, North Ballarat did out play us and we did kick a few in junk time, but I would hope the umpire that seemed determine to crucify the Scorpions doesn't get another finals gig and is shown the tape for improvement next year.

Overall it was probably our skill errors coming out of half back that cost us which made us panic with pressure through the middle and ended with long bombs to miller on three opponents. Interesting to see how we bounce back, we have beaten the bullants twice this year, but with Carlton playing finals and us losing Johnson and Warnock who were 2 of our better players it will be tough.

We should regain Newton and apparently Wonameiri (spelling) has qualified.

Free kick count at the end of the day was Roosters 24, Casey 25.. And one of the one's for Casey was when the umpire ran into our runner!

I understand that, but realistically realistically free kick counts shouldn't be even anyway. As I said I'm not suggesting it had a bearing on the overall result. But geez was frustrating to watch.

Must agree Iceman. The umpiring was bloody disgraceful.
Luck free from Bennell, No mark to Smith.
The mauling by Casey players on Hale all day went unnoticed like the knee to the head from Taylor was very crude.
Would not expect any of those 3 to take any further part.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
