It's about time that the VFL heirachy realised that the world does not revolve around Teac Oval !!![/quote]
Agree!

But you need to understand the world doesn't revolve around Eureka Stadium!

The VFL really need a neutral venue close to town, with lights for night footy.

The SANFL have double headers and are very successful.

Here is my idea bearing in mind no AFL footy is on,

The Sunday before the VFL Grand Final, all 3 games to be played at Docklands.

10:00 am Reserves Grand Final - Box Hill Vs Williamstown

13:00 pm 1st Prelim - Williamstown Vs Northern Bullants

16:00 pm 2nd Prelim - North Ballarat Vs Box Hill

This will give both winners of the Prelims the same amount of recovery time before the Grand Final. And get a look at the oval a week before the Grand Final.
And in this case everybody coming early to watch the 2s Grand Final will stay all day because there Seniors are involved.
I think with the supporters of 4 clubs you would get a Grand Final like crowd .
Fair for everybody.

Why can't they move the TAC Cup finals to Box Hill and move the VFL Finals to Visy Park?

Maybe with a few days of sun, and some rolling TEAC Oval will recover alright. Maybe we're just overreacting at this stage?

Puts the VFL in a tough position if they have to move the games, not many venues are available both days next weekend and there is ABC coverage to consider.

I'd expect AFL Victoria will be inspecting TEAC tomorrow with the curator, then ringing around all the local councils trying to find another ground which is available!

AFL Victoria are pros when it comes to fixture changes, I cant see it being too much of a problem for them!!

The preliminary finals won't be moved. If the ground is muddy and a bit heavy BIG DEAL. Each team has to play there so what is the big deal.
Any suggestions that they be moved to Box Hill IS A DISGRACE.
Box Hill fifth to play the roosters who finished second and won their first final at BOX HILL. Why not play the AFL PF Geelong v Collingwood at Kardinia Park. Eddie will agree for sure ??
How about Williamstown v Preston at Preston since Williamstown finished on top.
The other suggestion that the games be moved to Princes Park which is also the home ground for Preston.

Wouldn't this be a farce
Preliminary Finals for next week
North Ballarat v Box Hill at Box Hill
Williamstown v Preston at Princes Park Carlton
Same odds as Geelong v Collingwood at Kardinia Park and St Kilda to play Swans (if they beat the dogs) at the SCG.

I can tell you Eureka Stadium will not be used.

The Lexton Plains Footy League GF was postponed due to the weather.

It will now be this Sunday @ Eureka Stadium.

There is no doubt that TEAC Oval will be used. The ABC were yesterday taling about putting an additional camera in the Grandstand.

Rooster hit the nail on the head.

What he said about playing all 3 games on the same day is right.

I'v never liked it how there is no finals played at Etihad but you must win the grand final there.

The issue is teams don't even get a chance to train on that ground let alone play any lead up games which i think is very unfare.

How would the AFL players go playing at a ground not familar to them ?

Rooster, that is a fabulous idea & a real value-for-money opportunity for the VFL. It would be a good thing for the VFL Presidents & AFL Victoria to discuss. My understanding is the SANFL crowds on those double-header days are pretty impressive.

Errr, what happened when the GF was played at Princes "Optus Oval" Park (POOP!) or Victoria Park or Windy Hill? No teams played home & away games or finals there before the Granny, what does it matter if neither side has an advantage by playing at a particular venue??
