Salary Cap in the EFL

Anybody know if there is a salary cap in any of the suburban leagues.
Surely all those AFL rejects would not be at Balwyn because of the colour of the jumper. Didn't do them much good.
Also posters opinion on which league would be the strongest in surrounding competitions.

Didn't help Balwyn's cause last week as they crashed out to Scoresby.
The EFL is slightly stronger than the old Diamond Valley/Northern Football League. Eastern FL would be the number one metropolitan comp for sure.
Noble Park and Scoresby are playing off for the flag on Saturday at Bayswater.
Tory Dickson ex Frankston has kicked the ton for Noble Park this year.

The league would certainly appear the wealthiest.
Is it open slather or are there cap restrictions ??

Essendon District has become much stronger over the past few years, especially with the likes of Greenvale and Maribyrong Park who have had constant ex AFL and VFL recruits. Still I would rate it behind the Eastern and Diamond Valley/Northern.

From my understanding there is no salary cap in the EFL. I suspect there's no ATO review of player payments as well! Which makes it hard for VFL teams to compete when our financials & administration have to be able to withstand any ATO scrutiny.

Creates an interesting issue when competing for players - come to the VFL & pay tax or go to some other leagues & play for cash.

Unfortunately this rort has been going on for years and some clubs and leagues get away with it. The ATO are checking all fund raising functions as well as club raffles
lately.
