Pick 19 to Hawthorn

I thought Geelong were going to pick him up.
Isaac Smith will do very well for Hawthorn in 2011.
He will walk straight into the hawks lineup.

The Age are having a bad run, this time its Michael Gleeson's turn....

"He [Isaac Smith] ended the season playing six games for North Ballarat including in their VFL premiership side and is now an AFL footballer after last night being chosen by Hawthorn at pick 19 in the national draft on the Gold Coast - he took a long time to be an overnight success.

A year ago Michael Barlow was taken from the same club and had an immediate impact for Fremantle. Then in trade week this year his Roosters teammate Cam Richardson went to North Melbourne. Now Smith has joined them in graduating from VFL to AFL."

That would be Micahel Barlow from Weribbee not North Ballarat. Do some reserch into the VFL!

Some of those clowns that write for the Herald Sun and Age would not know where Teac Oval is, who are the seagulls, who won this years vfl flag, who Gerald Fitzgerald is, who are the dolphins, who Fred Cook is, who Frost Miller is.
They are dead set drongos.

Digs, I bet you wish you did have Michael Barlow. Imagine Barlow joing Isaac Smith, Clifton and Myles Sewell. That would have been some awesome lineup.
What chance Clifton and Sewell ? Are they a chance to be at least rookie drafted ?

If two of the best players in the competition can't get rookied what hope has anyone got. It would be a terrible shame if either of them didn't get at least a chance.
Was there a player from the VFL drafted except Isaac Smith. I'm not sure. ???
Isaac will do well at Hawthorn, he certainly doesn't lack any confidence.
Also great to see three Rebels get their chance. Cook & McDonald at Melbourne with Mabon at the Kangaroos,so we will probably see a bit of him. All three played with the Roosters at some stage this year under the 23rd player rule. Cook I believe is something special !!

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

A simple Google search (i presume they have computers with internet access at The Age) would have given Mr Gleeson the correct information:

Just slack, lazy so-called journalism, more worthy of Howard Leigh :-)

Spot on Wally,

very lazy journalism and a simple disrespect of the vfl comp.
Howard Leigh clone.
