Police have cleared two AFL Collingwood footballers, one of them premiership player Dayne Beams, over an alleged sexual assault following grand final celebrations.
Mr Beams and Mr John McCarthy were interviewed by police after the alleged sexual assault of a woman at a South Melbourne house less than 10 hours after the Magpies triumph on October 2.
No police action will be taken against the pair, The Herald Sun newspaper reported on Saturday.
Another man, VFL player Fraser James Pope, 22, of Elwood, has been charged with rape, indecent assault and attempted rape.
