North Port, I recently picked up the 1978 VFA 2nd Division GF between Frankston v Camberwell. When you get back from NY I can copy for you as well as the other old Cobras on this site Cobrascorer and Lum. It has the commentary of Craig Kelly and has the crossover to the 1st Division 2nd semi between Port v Preston. I spotted myself playing kick to kick near the scoreboard at half time. John Hook was running around for the wells with Ian Roberts, Robert Mace and Alan Harper for the dolphins. Great game that was hard as nails played in front of a big crowd. Scores were level lat in the game with the dolphins kicking a couple of late goals to win.
Great job VFA, that's a fabulous effort. Hopefully Hap Hammond was playing.
That Div 1 2nd Semi was a rip snorter too. Bullants won by 4 points with the last goal of the game, but only after Port recovered from Preston banging thru 10 in the first term.

Ken Marks kicked the winning goal for Preston. Happy Hammond kicked a few goals for the cobras in the 2nd Div GF. I thought Ian Roberts effort in the third quarter with a couple of goals helped Frankston go a llong way towards victory. The other game I picked up was a 1981 channel 0 clash between Frankston v Coburg. Rino Pretto played full back for Coburg with Renato Serafini having a good game in front of goal for the dolphins. John Humphrey was best afield for Frankston. He looked like Rex Hunt a bit (hairstyle and build) and was a very hard nut. I think he might have also played for Camberwell a few years earlier, maybe mid 70s. This game had a fair bit of spite which was your typical atv0 match of the day.

My Camberwell Player Records show that a J.Humphrey played 11 games with Camberwell in 1973 and kicked 13 goals. He came from Box Hill.

He looked about 30 odd in 1981. He played a ripper of a game in the TV match for Frankston v Coburg. That would be about right Box Hill to Camberwell. Maybe started at Box Hill as a 20 year old.
Not sure how many years he was with Frankston but he could have possibly been to a few clubs in between and afterwards. Looked like an old fashion tough straight through the lines player that cut no corners. Very tough player.

I'm back! Amazing place NY. Got along to see the NBA (NY Nicks v Hawks)and NHL (NY Rangers v LA Kings) at Maddison Square Gardens. I'll try and post a picture later on in the off-topic board.

Regarding the slowness of the site. Ozybeer, I am also experiencing the same issue.

I am trying to work out a way to speed up the performance of the site, but unfortunately I have not had much luck. I do think that a slow website really puts people off using it, so I am keen to try and resolve that issue. I have noticed that revenue from the advertising on the site is very low, and the site is making a financial loss over these summer months. Hopefully I can sort those issues out and it's back up and running at it's best by the start of the season.

Im having trouble with this site, very slow (just like me after a big sunday at vfl)
Is it just my comp or are others having same trouble?
