ABOUT 40 Werribee and Casey Scorpions players escaped punishment after a fiery all-in brawl in the last quarter of Saturday's Victorian Football League match at Avalon Airport Oval, Chirnside Park.

The VFL confirmed to Leader no reports would be dished out from the match.

Both clubs still face possible fines from the league, but coaches Brad Gotch and Paul Satterley will not have suspensions to contend with this week.

However, Sandringham captain David Gallagher and Northern Bullants' Mitch Carter were not so lucky. The pair must front tribunal hearings tomorrow night to face charges laid during their Round 14 matches.

The brawl in Werribee erupted after a collision between Casey's David Collins and Tigers assistant-coach Leigh Harding.

Former AFL star Brendan Fevola, now playing with the Scorpions, was involved in a scuffle with a young Tiger before a spectator jumped the fence and headed for the dual Coleman medallist.

The man, believed to be a relative of a Tigers player, has been banned from Werribee's ground for the rest of the season.

Star VFL pair Robbie Castello and Michael Stockdale also clashed after enduring a heated duel all match.

Casey will host Box Hill on Sunday, while Werribee will travel to meet Frankston on Saturday.

The Tigers took the four points from Saturday's encounter, but Scorpion Wade Lees joked on Twitter: "#wonthefighttho"
