Frankston 2012

Any news on the comings and goings down at Frankston?

We know Russell Gabriel has departed to play in the WAFL.

Apparently form guru from Best Bets and TVN, David Gately, has joined the Dolphins coaching panel following a successful stint as coach of Oakleigh in the VAFA. If his footy analysis is anything like his racing analysis the Dolphins have done very well getting him on board.

Reserves premiership captain Leigh Kitchen and Jackson Sketcher will be with Frankston.

DETERMINED to strengthen its list, Frankston has secured a couple of good recruits.

Box Hill pair Jackson Sketcher and Leigh Kitchin signed with the Dolphins on Saturday.

The midfielders played in Box Hill’s reserves premiership side this year, Kitchin as captain. Sketcher was a star at TAC Cup level with the Sandringham Dragons, jointly winning the 2010 Morrish Medal with Dyson Heppell.

Kitchin has played in Box Hill’s reserves three successive flags, twice being named best-on-ground in grand finals. He’s also a Hawks reserves B&F winner.

‘‘He’s played at Box Hill for three years and with the Hawthorn players he just hasn’t been able to get the opportunities,’’ Frankston coach Simon Goosey said. ‘‘They add a bit of depth to our midfield. It’s looking good.’’

Clinton Proctor won't be there in 2012, read in the local paper this morning that he has returned to Point Gellibrand after 2 seasons with the Dollies, could be a good pick-up at 26yo & almost 100 games of VFL footy behind him.

Looks like the Dolphins are a completely different proposition in the early game this year, gave Port a good touch up.

That can only be a good sign for the club.
