wally i would like you to read thes VERY slowly simon mcphee is sandy coach FIRST and saints developent coach second no matter what you may read in the anti vfl press should you need further confirmation please call our G.M. john mennie on 9598 8629
Say whatever you like Clarry but I think it won't be long until Sandringham are in the same position Preston are in now. I give it about 5 years before Sandringham merge with the Saints to become the Sandringham Saints and wear red, black and white jumpers.

Frankston and Port Melbourne are the only "real" football clubs in the VFL, the rest are AFL reserves teams to varying degrees. North Ballarat and Werribee are the closest to being "real" clubs with Box Hill and the Northern Blues being the closest to being AFL standalone sides.

Must agree with Commie, Clarry.
You can put all the spin on it you like, but your club is dominated by St Kilda appointments.
The VFL aligned clubs must shake off the AFL dominance & stand on their own two feet otherwise its the Bullants, Box Hill etc all over again.

All clubs should take note. What Carlton scum did to Preston could happen to you. Rid the evil AFL teams and stand alone.
Surely it can't be that hard to stand alone ? Money problems that does not sit with me. If suburban and country clubns can run viably why on earth do the vfl teams try to take the easy way out.

Werribee and Williamstown can both stand alone right now if they chose without any problems.
Good on you Bendigo for giving it a go in 2013 and hope it goes well.

Unfortunately VFA it is all about the $$$$$.
Fact is that it would have conservatively cost Port about four hundred nicker more to put their side on the park this year compared to what it cost the Roosters.
If you don't believe me ...Do the sums.

Yes great turn up for first training run/ meeting apart from the very very wet weather I reckon it was the most positive start to any season for the Zebs in over 50 years I have been following and supporting them.
Before everyone gets in, no football kicked ,no games started yet but if you were there you could feel all the positive things were said by new coaches and it's only Sandy players there but for any true Zebra supporter it was the best and all very positive.
Fitness will be a priority and team work again will an improvement and looking and hoping for a finals berth at least.

go Zebras 2012.

Saintgail
also paul kennedy from seaford is the new reserves coach
interview with Paul
could be a good get for advertising and his media work :)

Every season people come out with lines like "this is out best pre-season ever, definitely going to make finals this year". Well Zebra ever since Sandringham have been aligned with the Saints reserves have not made the finals. Can't see that changing in 2012 as the Saints are on their way down to the bottom of the AFL ladder where they belong.

Digs it might be true that the borough has forked out more but other clubs could as well if they raise the funds. Better that than folding up like Preston. Clubs should work towards life without afl clubs even if it is gradually done with a long term plan. Maybe clubs running venues like the rex and Seagulls will help enormously which is far better than operating on a shoe string budget and relying on afl teams. Obviously the area of the venue and to attract the patronage is important. Collingwood done their balls on some venues unlike Williamstown and Port which have had great success. Not sure what a club like Sandringham would need to build their coffers but anyhting would be better than St Kilda. The ideal world would be if Williamstown, Sandringham and Werribee joined Frankston and Port as standlaone clubs and all succeeded on and off the field and not be reliant on afl clubs.
I would have rather seen Preston gone back to the old diamond valley than allowing those scum vultures gobbling them up.
Speaking of your roosters what kind of crowd would they get for next years NAB CUP game between the roos and bulldogs ? I'll make the trek for that one.
