ROBBO thought this was the V.F.L. site about football? :quest:

It is the vfl footy site but fair enough throughout the off season for other sporting info. The twenty 20 is a waste of space though and I would prefer the old school test cricket anyday. These new teams Melbourne stars and co mean nothing to me. I usually go to a few of the days test match in Melbourne, the odd one dayer and if I am absolutely bored I might drag myself to a twenty 20 but that would be rare. Plenty of off season talks in the vfl with the Big O getting drafted as well as Tory Dickson. Box Hill and Preston GONE. Williamstown's ground well in progress and to be ready by May 2012. VFL to play Tassie in Burnie in 2012. More vfl players to be rookie listed next month. Fevola for Frankston. The dolphins to improve dramtically in 2012 and win several more games. Footy never dies but keep up the good work Robbo with constant updates whether it is cricket, racing or whatever.

Very much like yourself VFA, but I do appreciate Robbo's sporting updates which I am sure would occupy a lot of time & effort.
As for the so called "Cricket" of today the Big Bash is just a Channel Botox wank. Maguire & Brayshaw heading up the teams is just another excercise to foster their egos.
What's next Dane Swan & Daisy Thomas opening the batting facing Tracy Grimshaw from the Dean Jones end. If people go to watch this shit they are very easily entertained.
As far as I am concerned Cricket as I knew it died when Packer took over in 1977. RIP

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Aaaah, a good Test match is still hard to beat Digs, even in this day of inflated wallets & egos & corruption & the never-ending series & tournaments. The recent 2 tests in South Africa were as dramatic & enthralling as any i've seen in recent years.

My favorite cricket moments from yesteryear include the West Indies in 1999 which was an eye opener. I went to the test at Antigua and one day games at St Vincent, Grenada, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad. Also watched world cup games in 199 at Gloucester- Scotland v Australia, Chelmsford- Bangladesh v NZ and Canterbury Kent- England v Kenya. Favorite test match of all time was the 1977 centenary test where I went to watch each days play. As far as todays Aussie cricketers go, the majority of them are full of it and basic tools. Give me the aura of Lillee, Thommo, March, Walters, Chappeli, Stackpole and co anyday. I have no time for Ponting, Mitchell Johnson, Clark or Shane Watson. Prediction NZ will win the series 1/0 or it will be drawn 1/1. I loved Neil Harvey comments that Mitchell Johnson is the most overated bowler EVER to play for Australia.

Digs I agree that the new twenty 20 comp is a waste of space. I won't be attending any of those hit and giggle games that are make up teams and meaningless.
I will watch a few days of the boxing day test between the aussied and India which should be pretty even.
