Footyman, good to see you posting on this topic.

I guess a good indicator will be finals time when the ABCO coverage switches to the Saturday and Sunday games. Offtopic, I wonder what the Foxtel Cup games would rate.

When the vfl finals are on (for the first 3 weeks), will the Sunday TV figures are be far better than the Saturday figures ? I reckon they will be in most cases.
On Saturday's their is local footy throughout the season, where Sunday you would get only a handful of games at the various leagues. Saturday is more of a shopping and get and about day. Sunday can be a lazy hangover day for quite a few. Reckon you are on the money Footyman and the ABC should give Sunday a go instead of the Saturday. On Sunday the opposition would be a televised AFL game around on Channel 7 plus a Foxtel televised game early and the late one at usually around 4.40pm. Putting the ABC game for VFL matches at 1.10pm on a Sunday might make sense.

Whoever scheduled the Bendigo v Casey game is a dill... ratings wise.

Of course it would draw a low number, both sides AFL partners were on TV roughly at the same time!

I would much prefer the ABC televised VFL on 1.10pm Sunday. I would watch it most weeks if that was on Sundays.

To me it makes a lot more sense to televise Sunday games as the poeple more lkely to watch will be at home. There is local footy on Saturday which a lot of potential vewiers either play or attend.

Good mix of games for the last 3 rounds.
Werribee v North Ballarat battle of North Melbourne will be a good one. Werribee will be aiming fore the top four with the chooks top eight.
Port v Bendigo should be a good battle. Port will be hoping for a good build up towards finals. Bendigo four a potential top four finish.
Casey v Sandy should be a good one, especially after their recent close meeting.

You would have to be joking vfa at least a ten goal thrashing from a genuine flag contender at their own shitty ground.

Depends on the Essendon players available as well as which Port players are in. Yes Port at full strength and at their best they would beat them by more than 10 goals, no arguments there.
Bendigo have been good over the past month or two although they coughed up a good lead against Casey to lose. If Essendon get a few more injuries Bendigo will be fully tested and will struggle. Port rested their players from the Foxtel Cup and are still a few players short of their best lineup. North Port Oval is not an easy place for any team facing the borough at their best.
I think the Casey v Sandy clash will be close and a lot could depend on which players are in or out when they meet. This is irrespective of Casey's great season to date losing only twice. These two teams seem very even as some teams match up well against certain teams.
Werribee v North Ballarat clash should favour Werribee at home but the roosters will be eager to win getting close to finals time.

Hopefully the eveness of the comp this year makes for good finals, and in turn, good ratings.

As long as Aunty ABC does not cut off the telecast at time on of the last quarter.
Wish they had some cameras at the other two games with crossovers like the old days of the Second Division finals. They actually did the crossover for a Frankston v Coburg finals match from Beach Road Oval about 10/11 years ago. They televised the last quarter as the Beach Road game started half an hour later thatn the final at North Port Oval. Maybe they can have a live stream from on of the other finals not at Port.
