Also very famous for the celebrated team photo.......Only a few copies were available.
He is now the manager of York Park the AFL ground at Launceston.

Pretty sure Jack Mihocek was banned for life from Soccer. He was a goal keeper.
Not sure what he did but he could have striked the referee ?
He was a very tough footballer he you would not want to meet in a dark alley.
From what I can remember he wan't the most gifted player but a hard nut.

He is indeed Jack Mihocek's son & he's got two others, amazing how everyone remembers a guy who played just 13 games, the last being 34 years ago :-)

Jack was quite a volatile player and was always getting into trouble with the umpires due to his short temper. He played two seasons at Frankston.

1978 8 4

Jack Mihocek was a stocky red headed half-forward and rover who came from East Keilor to play for Essendon's U19s in 1974.

He debuted against Collingwood in the second last game of 1976 kicking two goals. He played only three senior games in 1977 and found it difficult to hold down a regular senior spot.

Mihocek was not fast, but he had plenty of aggression and could take a good mark.

He played another eight games in 1978 then left Essendon to join Scottsdale in Tasmania in 1979. He returned to Victoria and played with Frankston in 1980 and 1981. He then returned to Tasmania to play with Cooee from 1982 to 1984.

Mihocek played with Hampton Park in 1985 and then Deer Park in 1987.

I remember when Jack Dyer was calling games. He use to call him My Ho Check.
I have 2 channel 0 games on tapes that Frankston played in 1981 against Coburg and Dandenong. Unfortunately no Mihocek in these two games. Renato Serafini played in both as well as a young Rino pretto for Coburg against Frankston. Pretto ended up being a man mountain and prolific goal kicker. I will endeavour to post highlights from a another Oakleigh v Sunshine game (not the one I posted yesterday) where both the full forward Litchfield and Pretto kicked bags of goals. I'll pass on a copy to Station Hotel where he can put highlights on here.
I also have a Grand Final at home on dvd between Smithton v Cooee 1983 GF played at Burnie. I will check it as Mihoceck would have played in this. Also Dean Herbert, Steve Parsons, Ken Mansfield played in this game by memory that went down to the wire. Big crowd as well.

Ken Mansfield was a pretty good pick up for Sandy and I remember a game at Preston where he Tery Wilkins and John Bennett decided thay would rather fight than play footy and terrorised the Preston players esp Jamie Shaw who hardly got a touch on Bennett and CC Ray Shaw took himself before half time

Ken Mansfield was a good player at both Sandy and Coburg. Pretty fiery at times. He played with no fear whatsoever.
