Ben Duscher has been a good vfl player for the past few seasons and deserves a go. Haretuku has been impressive and could eventually get a second crack at afl. Billy Driscoll and Myles Sewell have been great vfl players over a number of seasons. No surprise that Port have 8 players in the squad. Ben Ross and Ben Jolley are going well and are good choices. Overall the VICS look far too good for the Tassie team.
Just a matter of gelling on the day which I have no doubt they will.

Pretty pathetic that Sandy the 3rd placed team atm get only one player yet bottom dwellers like Collingwood,Frankston and Bendigo get 3 each

Then again on the positive side there is less chance of Sandy players getting injured in a nothing game against poor opposition.

If the VFL play to their ability and dont get too smart as they have tended to do in the past when they get a few goals ahead they should win by 100 pts.

Interesting to note that two Zebra discards who both spent long periods in the reserves in Matt BOLAND and Khan HARETUKU do make the squad.

Khan Heretuku is not a bad player. He could be a goer if he got another chance at afl level. Boland was not too bad for the zebras. He has already showed up this year for the filth. In fact Boland and Ricky Ferraro have both played well with the filth.

Look at a club like Frankston and all the ex players playing elsewhere. Aaron Edwards at North, Tory Dickson at Williamstown on dogs list, Trent Shinners at Bendigo, James Magner at Melbourne, Bagualey and Hibberd at Essendon. Boyd with the Bulldogs.
How would the dolphins fare with those players ?

Who else would you put in the team from the zebras Billy ? I haven't watched them play this year so I would only be guessing. The way Port are blitzing you can understand why they have eight in the squad.
From the 31 man squad I would not be surprised if at least 7 of the Port players made the final squad.

No players from Box Hill, Geelong or Casey ? Does this mean they are solely reliant on AFL players. You would think that at least Box Hill and Casey would have one vfl listed player good enough of getting into the squad of 31.
Also no Coburg players ? Would have thought Nick Carnell could have made the squad for his hardness.

Billy,
3rd place on the ladder means "jackshit" at the moment. Maybe it is those beloved St Kilda players of yours that have you going so well.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Well said William, better 3rd top than 3rd last or lower even at this stage of the season.
Good to see Myke Cook at least being selected for the squad as he is a true gooer.

Jason,
No one gives a rats arse who was in front on the turn in last years Melbourne cup, its all about who is first past the post.
For Billy to be blowing his bags about who is third & who is last is irrelevant at this stage.
It will really give him something to grizzle about if Cook misses out.

I'm surprised that Geelong and Casey don't have more players.. there are a lot of VFL listed players at both clubs who can consider themselves unlucky.

Very glad I didn't see the name Wheeler there.. I don't see Willie Wheeler being anywhere near as good as he is being talked up. Not in their best 198

paul

Sandy dont have more because there arent a lot of VFL listed players in their team at the moment.
