The VFL is seriously weak as piss when it comes to the tribunal. Why do they have different rules and punishments to the AFL? Yet when a case such as Wojinski's came up they simply gave him no punishment because his VFL team has a bye and a break because of the state game?? Thats outragous!
If he got the appropriate punishment in the first place he wouldnt have to worry about the VFL fixture.
I didnt see the Graham incident but the VFL need to get more professional and also have some balls when it coms to enforcing penalties.
I imagine Phil Cleary would have a wry smile when hearing that news, he still maintains his send-off in the 86 GF for roughing up a 14yo Ronnie James cost Coburg the flag :-)
Card system is a joke. Time for it to go, and probably for the umpire who sent Graham off to be dropped as well. Embarassing situation I would have thought.
Let the video review and tribunal decide on a penalty. No need to disadvantage a team during a game, Make the player pay the following week or two if necessary - once all the evidence has been looked at.
