Round 18 Frankston vs Casey Scorpions

It's a local derby but also top vs bottom clash

When the 2 sides met way back on Easter Sunday, Casey held on and beat Frankston by a point at Casey Fields.

Frankston would love nothing less than to knock the Scorpions off in their final home game of the season.

It is also fantastic that the ABC finally worked out Frankston are actually in the competition and will cover the game on Saturday. Not before time!!!!!!

To be honest, and as much as I think Frankston should get the chance to be on TV, the VFL need to showcase the game of the round.

Unfortunately Frankston v Casey isn't it.

The ABC should be at Box Hill v Werribee.

In future, the ABC need to select a Frankston game in the first 6 weeks of the season and get it out of the way.

Every team should be shown at least once in the first half of the season...after that pick and choose the best matches

Sandy. The most successful club in the past 30 years

It would be a disgrace if the ABC changed at this late stage.

But this did happen a couple of years ago.

If the ABC did change it would be the 1st time since 1997 a team has not been on TV in a season.

That hasnt been the policy this year or in any year I can remember, so it isnt really grounds for a last minute change once arrangements have already been made.

Of the eight games at Frankston Park this season, only one hasnt been in doubt at the start of the last quarter, and four have gone down to the final minutes including a draw. I dont think the selected ABC TV games so far this year could match that for excitement.

Also considering Casey has played in a number of close games, this shapes up well as a good game for TV. Saturday is a bit of a blockbuster with Willy v Port, Geelong and Bendigo and of course Box Hil Werribee, which is probably the pick of the round.

That's true. The funny thing about footy is its hard to know which ones will turn out to be close. Last round in the afl shaped as having a lot of tight games but didn't really turn out that way.

Last versus first you would presume of a one sided game. I would be surprised if this is a one sided game. The dolphins have been close to winning their second game on a few occasions and this one could be win number two for them. They would be pumped up for a TV game. Casey has been unbelievable winning all close games they have played. Maybe the scorpions luck might run out ? Will the dolphins break through ?
Spot on JB you might get a very good round of close games with Williamstown at home to Port, Werribee and Box Hill as well as Bendigo and Geelong.

In recent years it has been policy, if it wasn't then the ABC would just choose all their games at the start of the year.

Even a few years ago, the ABC picked the first two-thirds of the season's games and left the last 6-7 rounds until late so they could show the best game.

Policy about 5-6 years ago was that every team had one home game covered.

This year, it was decided to do the games in four week blocks so they could pick and choose the best game.
