AFL club impact during finals.

Which of the AFL affiliates are likely to ignore the needs of their VFL partner and not make their players available for the VFL finals?

History says that there will be an impact.

Should make Willy v Bendigo interesting more than any other game. Is there any reason why either Essendon or the Dogs would want to nurture thier partnership.

Casey- Melbourne one more game left against Freo
Port- stand alone no impact
Geelong- at least another 2 weeks in afl and maybe longer
Werribee- at least another 2 weeks for North
Williamstown- one more game for the dogs
Sandringham- one more game for the saints against Carlton
Box Hill- could be GF for Hawthorn
Bendigo- one more game for Essendon against Collingwood

Its the ones with one more game that are the concern, if they are not playing AFL finals will they risk thier boys in the VFL when there is no "next week"?

It's a huge concern for those aligned to clubs who bow out this week, because there might be decisions made very soon on delistings.

There have been issues in the past where clubs with unsigned/delisted players haven't been able to put those guys forward for VFL selection because of inadequate insurance coverage.

Then there's the little issue of those who've been chopped and don't want to play.

This will be a good test of the real commitment the AFL clubs have to the partnerships or are just using the ex VFA clubs as defacto seconds teams.

It also goes to the heart of how the AFL players see the alingements and how they have been treated by the VFL club.

Im hoping that seeing St Kilda wont play in the finals they let some of their better players play for the Zebs.
