WERRIBEE secured a top-four berth and the vital double chance after dismantling Collingwood in the final round of the VFL home-and-away season on Saturday.

The Tigers led at every change on their way to an 82-point victory, 20.16 (136) to 8.6 (54).

The win was highlighted by a blistering second half display, with Werribee piling on 11 goals to three.

The Tigers will meet minor premier Casey Scorpions in a qualifying final at Casey Fields on Sunday, with the winner earning a week's rest and ticket to the preliminary final. Werribee thumped the Scorpions by 78 points in Round 14.

Coach Scott West was pleased with the display against the Magpies after the last-quarter fadeout against Northern Blues the previous week.

West lamented his side's attitude after the defeat, but he said the weekend's win was a positive step.

"Sometimes you've just got to be ruthless - just not with the opposition, but with your teammates if you don't think they're doing the right thing and if you think they're in the wrong position. That's part of footy," West said.

"That's part of really good teams; that they're ruthless on each other, and sometimes I think we let our teammate get away with something when we see it.

"I reckon we changed that in the second half and we played a lot better."

North Melbourne-listed Levi Greenwood was best-afield, gathering 38 possessions and booting two goals, while Jordan Keras, Leigh Harding and Matthew O'Dwyer also impressed.

Ben Warren jagged five majors, while Malcolm Lynch and Ben Speight both kicked three.

West praised Kangaroos rookie Majak Daw for his improvement this year.

"He's been able to play behind the footy a little bit, which is teaching him how to read the play," he said.

"His ability to read the ball in flight and mark it, I think, has been terrific this year. I think he's gone forward and done a great job."

Former AFL pair Travis Tuck and Nathan Ablett were absent from the Tigers' line-up at the weekend, but both took to the field for the club's Development League side against Sandringham on Sunday.
