I coming over from Adelaide to see the GF.... so would be great for an SANFL boy to meet some of the VFL hardcore.

On match day, you'll find the Port Melbourne faithful sitting behind the bench on the wing. Also, they'll be having pre-game froffies at the Mail Exchange.

Should be a great day! I have my desk at work decked out in the red & blue, it helps to educate co-workers who think footy stops at AFL level. Not expecting an easy day at the office, but a strong performance in the middle should hopefully see Port home.

Go Borough!

I hope Digs or anyone else wasn't planning on going by train on the Ballarat line as yet again there are no trains running on Sunday 23rd.

Ad in today's Courier, page 5. "Regional Fast Rail" is the excuse, as usual. As usual, the ad does not give any clue as to bus/train times, making trip planning very difficult. These days it's a lottery as to when trains are running, and not the dreaded bus. At least, Geelong trains are listed as running to normal times!

Port to win by 40 + at $3.40 is the go. Will be fairly even in the first half but Port will overpower the cats in the second half. Tough ask for the cats and I suspect they will be leg weary at the business end of the game. Geelong have had a tough few weeks and have been very game. Only hitch for the borough is the start and would not want the cats to get a flyer. If the borough jumps out of the barriers it will be how far. The big O is obviously one to watch as are the slick cats. Port will have the edge in the bigger bodies as well as being there last year. Shane Kersten needs to be watched as well. Will Sam Dwyer be right to go ? Geelong will have their hands full with Galea and Bones up forward as well the strong midfield of the boroughs. Selection Port to win by 47 points after a fairly tight first half.

That looks good valve imo.

Geelong should be able to freshen up after their prelim and get Port with run and spread early on the bigger ground and I think that they can be in front at the main break.
Like last year I will expect Port then to come home hard and it will be up to Geelong to see if they can last the distance. Going by the look of the young Geelong boys late last week against Werribee I don't think they can. They looked tired.
However of Port's five losses this year three have come on the bigger grounds.
Geelong @ SS, Casey @ Casey, North Ballarat @ Eureka. The other ones were Coll @ VP before the Darwin road trip and Willy @ Bogbank.
Everyone wants to get Port on the big grounds where you can open it up and make them chase.
Skipper will have his work cut out against "O" and Dawson and the Cats will get first use early on.

Query still on Sam Dwyer. Hopefully they clear him as fit (and he really is fit). Always a gamble taking injured players into the big one.
