Cobrascorer i Doubt they fix the cost on how much VFL footy news in there. It really is an AFL paper that nevertheless does a decent job covering the state leagues.

The issue out yesterday is about the national draft.

Its seems like good news. He is passionate about his club (+ club legend) and if willing to put the hard yards in and promote them in the community. Only fear is that he would have been away from it for a while so may be better suited to the committee (I really dont know being so removed here in SA)

Phil Cleary one of the few VFA/VFL names that is known beyond the VFA/VFL community so it could give the LIONS the push they need.

Good luck Coburg - a strong Lions team can only be good for the VFA

Digs Footy Directors dont get paid in your neck of the woods? - its a way to beat the salary cap where I come from.

James,
Could well be the case here also ??
Strong rumours here in the VFL that even some presidents were paid in the past.
I was on the board at the Roosters for 14 years & never got a zac & I was the finance director.
Missed the boat there. !!!

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

I Hope he can turn the club around. I know he is a very good person when it comes to different ideas & ways to
Promote things. Exactly what the club needs. I just am concerned where the 750,000 is going to come from

Cobra - Just a guess - I wouldn't think ABC would have too many resources at their disposal to bother replacing Phill when Coburg are playing. A few years ago Eddie would still commentate when the pies were playing.

37 times Grand finalists
16 times premiers
21 times runners up - THE MIGHTY BOROUGH!

I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN,
I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED,
I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cobrascorer raised a good issue. What happens to Phil on the ABC? surely his commitments with the Lions will mean that his involvement with the TV coverage will be very limited in 2013. Any Coburg supporters that can shed some light on this?

Phil would still be part of the abc when the burgers have Sunday games I would expect.

When was the last time anyone saw a Coburg supporter on the forum?
