What a last quarter! Even better than I thought.

Geelong still far and away the team to beat, but Port had 6-7 genuine goal scoring chsnces that could easily hsve changed the result and should draw huge confidence from it.

That last quarter was one of the best I've watched at vfl standard all year. Geelong have cracks.

North port I sent you a pm

Geelong are clearly the team to beat and if they get to Turd Dome for the GF they would be long odds on. I suspect they are vulnerable at North Port Oval and can be beaten. If they happen to strike a wet day against the borough at North Port I would be backing the borough no problems. The last round is a beauty with a few spots up for grabs in the eight. A couple of interesting games.

Would hate to see Geelong get caught on a wet deck at Port in September!

What about a dry deck at empty head stadium Burra ?
I'm not totally impressed with the Cats.
I'm prepared to stick my neck out (Again) & tip Box Hill for the flag.

If Geelong get to Etihad I can't see them losing. When I've seen them on the bigger grounds this year they look frightening! Werribee or Port at North Port would be my best bet to detail them. The other issue is there AFL side will run deep into September so a lot the qualification for players will go out the window. Hawks will have this advantage also but I reckon the pussy bats deeper.
The Borough must get through this week though and would be boosted by Galea & Valenti for week 1 of the finals. Pinwills the only certainty this week.
I might swing past Windy Hill for the second half on Saturday actually.

If theirs such a thing as a encouraging loss then this was it. Many people had written us off this game (me included) and we nearly proved them wrong. We can be very proud and confident about what is to come in coming weeks. Bad luck lads - we still love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a great performance from Port, a credit to the club and players to bounce back from the reaming the cats gave the borough earlier in the season. Also a good example of how a disciplined stand alone side can take it up to the AwFuL's 'Big Boys'.
