Here is a statement released by Williamstown Football Club on Peter German's departure.

Purely hypothetical, but what would have happened had Willi won the flag? Unusual in the extreme for a premiership coach not be offered an extension. Due to his contractual arrangements with the Bulldogs I guess his position was untenable at Willi, which is a shame if he & the club had wanted him to continue. I like the idea of Andy Collins taking over the reins, he has had a lot of success, but speaking of premiership coaches not continuing was it he or Fruitcake Ford who coached Sandy to a flag & then was gone by the following season?

Michael Ford a flag one year and gone the next.

I'm surprised Williamstown would choose to drop Peter German. I would have thought they would want to keep as much stability aa possible in a season that will see massive change.

Is Troy West stilk coaching anywhere?

Yeah I read it the same way Lauschie. What a joke!
All that was needed to say was Peter was contacted by the dogs.

From the press release:

Over the last 4 years, Peter has filled the dual roles of Western Bulldogs Development Coach and Williamstown Senior Coach and remains contracted by the Western Bulldogs for the 2014 season.

Not clear enough?

Fair chance that Peter German could be coaching Footscray VFL team in 2014.

Would seem to be the logical fit but seems they don't want him, maybe too blunt & direct for the precious young pups. He also runs a pub in Footscray not far from the ground so it wouldn't do his business interests any harm either. Will be interesting to see who they appoint, i've heard Rohan Smith & Gia, but just on the rumour-mill.

Would be great for Coburg next year.
He has been around the traps coaching Subiaco, Casey, Williamstown and who knows where Germo will be coaching next year if he indeed is.
Coaches with passion with a bit of 60s/70s style. Does not hold back and can let loose when he wants to. Has a pretty good record overall.
Played footy into at least the mid 30s for Subiaco after a good career with North.

I bet you he would love to coach Coburg in the future if that ever eventuates.
Would be a great fit for the standalone burgers.
