Rumour is that the board has divided neatly into the pro-Ayres and anti-Ayres camps. Any truth to this?

Also hearing that there may be a few financial concerns due to a cost blowout with the ground redevelopment.

I'm not in the position to confirm however what you said seems very likely as that would explain why players are leaving and also why the ground re-development is taking so long. Worrying signs.

Big man with a fair bit of body art and a midfielder with surname of greek origin. If true Sandringham have some short term issues.

Looks like hard yakka for the Borough and zebras in 2014. Hope they both can pick up some decent players as I would rather see the AFL stand alone teams struggle than the old VFA clubs. Werribee in signing John Lamont is a great get as he has the smarts and making of a good coach. Besides being a premiership player with the bees he has been coaching in various roles for quite a few years all over the place in junior and suburban ranks. Andy Collins is a massive get for the seagulls and I reckon the seagulls will be a top four club in 2014. Now waiting for the Burgers coach which I believe will be announced shortly. Hope they can also pick up some quality players around the traps and at least be competitive first up as a stand alone club since 2000 when they were called Coburg-Fitzroy Lions. Bendigo have done great off field with their fund raising and at least they have been super active in trying to recruit players without spending big dollars on hacks. We will have to wait until way after the afl draft and see which players miss out as some will no doubt get picked up by vfl clubs which will also include quite a few TAC Cup players that just miss the draft.

On the wrong track there MegaA.

I'm told the hold-up with the re-development is yet another bloody council permit issue.

I swear Port Phillip council couldn't organise a root in a brothel.

I've heard that the site is contaminated by asbestos that was in the fill dumped there decades ago and it's costing a fortune to clean it up.

I will play Nostradamus and predict that the pavilion will not be ready by the start of season 2014.

That issue has been addressed I believe, and the capping works ended that hold-up. The AGM should shed more light on the redevelopment, recruitment and all the happenings at North Port Oval.

I checked the timelapse photos of the redevelopment, and some of the perimeter wall is underway.
