I agree they are playing great footy and look very good. But Box Hill are a stand out and even if they get struck down by injury they have the depth to cover. Obviously theres a long way to go!
Definitely our best side since 2011, but there won't be a side as good as 2011 again. They were literally the perfect side. While Port this year will take some beating, I would hold off on anointing them with that lofty mantle only a month in.
I think the resurgence after a decidedly indifferent 2013 goes a long way to prove stand alone sides aren't all grist for the AwFuL mill, though.

Having said that its only 4 from 4 now which is a great start but thats all it is, a start. People will start comparing them to 2011 and wonder how good a side they are IF they win the next 4 and are 8 from 8 however that is a big if as theirs 2 excellent sides in there that we lost to on their turf last season and will be very hard to beat at home.
Interesting times and tests ahead.

"IF", a wonderful word Mega.

The only one you want to win is the last one.
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Early signs would suggest the side is on par with that of 2012.
After the bye we have 3 away games at Essendon, Box Hill and Geelong which will be a fantastic opportunity to see how we're tracking in 2014.

It sounds like a media personality trying to talk it up in their coverage. The Port Melbourne side of 2011 was exceptional and I don't think we will ever see that again.
As for the Port side in 2014, well it is too early to compare this side with seasons past. The 2012 Port side was a great team, making the Grand Final after the loss of many talented players. The time to talk about how "great" the 2014 Port side is after the 2014 Grand Final.
I saw half a game at Willy and Port look to be a very strong outfit. Will give the flag a shake if they can keep their current form up.
I also think Williamstown will improve as the season wears on when all the new players settle in they could come home with a wet sail.
Love to see a Willy v Port two of the oldest and traditional clubs and both standaline play off in a Grand Final. Port are a huge chance and Willy will improve throughout the season so there is a fair chance it might happen.

I hate it when Port supporters talk sense !!!
