Can't argue there Billy as the best possible team from each state would be what we all would like to watch.
If the game on Saturday is half as good as the one in 2005 I'll take that.
The Foxtyl Cup might not have the strongest possible teams on the field but the players that get a game especially the reserves players, it is a big thing for these kids espeically playing on the MCG. The players from Apsley, some of them have never been to the MCG and before the game they were their with cameras taking photos and clips of the MCG. In that respect it is good. The prizemoney on offer is pretty good for the Foxtel Cup.

I am looking forward to this game as well. Their last meeting at North Port Oval in 2005 was a classic with Jeremy Clayton kicked the sealer for the croweaters.
They will get more than 1000. You would hope they do ??

The old days of the VIC v SA or VIC v WA state of origin are long gone as with the AFL there is no interest with basically teams travelling to and from interstate each week.
The last garbage rep event the AFL tried to put ion was some Allies garbage format that had absoltely no meaning whatsoever. The rep footy at AFL is long gone.

At least the state leagues can get the players from each state to play at rep level representing their leagues without AFL involvement.

The only real state of origin rivalry is that of Rugby League. Love it or hate it Billy that is a reality. Even in Victoria people watch it. Tomorrow marks the 100th state of origin game and is always a huge event.

VFA,
My memories of that game was that Jeremy Clayton kicked the ball to a little left foot rover that played with Box Hill then went to SA. His name escapes me at the minute but I will check it out.
Quite happy to be corrected.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Steve Kenna was a handy player at VFL level that played some AFL games.
Pity that dud Richard Tambling is not playing for SA.
When I think of Richard Tambling I think of Buddy Franklin.
When I think of another dud in Aaron Fiora I think of Matthew Pavlich.
Being a Richmond supporter I would not have been cheering for Tambling had he played in the state game.
SA has a reasonable side in and will be a good test for the VFL. Any odds on this game ?
SA might start slight favourite but my tip is VFL by 3 goals.

Will you be there Digs ?

Don't mind representative football at this level and as long as the VFL play the WAFL or SANFL the game is worth watching.

North Port should hold no fears for the SANFL and expect it to be a very close contest.

The croweaters have a decent sqaud so no reason why this game won't go down to the wire.
A couple of well know names from SA that have played in VFL level with Ian Callinan the standout. Speaking of Tassie Devils good to see Brendan Bolton get a gig with Hawthorn for several weeks at least. Speedy recovery to Allistair Clarkson.

Vics will be training at North Port Oval from 6pm tomorrow night
