The International Cup game China v Finland was played as a curtain-raiser to the NB v Willy game on Saturday. The excitement of the Chinese players was palpable all around the ground. Their first win (and I was told their first goal) in this game was marked by scenes of great jubilation and fun. Hearing their theme song in Mandarin was great. They really have got into the spirit of our game. Then their cheering for the Willy team in the main game was another source of fun. Well done to Williamstown FC for their support of the Chinese team. It is great to see our game expanding.

A story and some photos of the China v Finland match from The Courier:

http://www.thecourier.com.au/story/2494428/fins-fail-to-break-down-great...

It is a pity that The Courier's caption writer was not in any way familiar with this match, as it was twice put in captions in The Courier that China played Denmark. Very offensive.
