10,000 would be jammed! There's 3 sets of toilets blocks located at Port Heath, you will be fine mate! Most grounds only have 1.

Toilets near the main scoreboard are open. This could be a throwback to the 80s, atmosphere will be amazing.

Talk is that they may open up the beer booth under the scoreboard. If you were ever a fan of Back to the Future and always wished you could step back in time come to NorthPort on Ssturday - big parochial crowd, facilities they way they were - it'll take you back 30 + years - THE ONLY THING MISSING WILL BE THE donut man and the MULLETS aND I RECKON THEIR MAY BE A FEW mullets on Saturday. COMMON BOROUGH!!

37 times Grand finalists
16 times premiers
21 times runners up - THE MIGHTY BOROUGH!

Billythekid - there will be 5,000 + and i won't be suprised if it is the 1st time in the last few seasons that Port fans are outnumbered at home. Its only a short journey from the westgate and as people have stated Footscray fans are hungry for some success. Not having their AFL side playing finals will see them turn up.

The majority of Dogs fans dont live in the West anymore but I still think quite a few will turn up as they have been starved of success for a long time and as for the AFL team it dosent look like improving any time soon.

Im hoping to make it before half time just for old times sake. When North Port was used for the VFA finals in the 1960s the GFs had crowds of 20- 25,000 but the ground was way bigger for spectators backthen.

I have heard others say that as well and the ground record is something like 36 k i believe ? I can't see how though - just with the otherstand which probably only held 2 k and more room up the back - I can't see how they could get 30 K in there let alone 20 !

The Sunday League played their finals at Port and used to claim that they got 30,000 + to some GFs but I doubt it.

The hill where the new facilities was massive in those days and went way back the other end behind the goals was pretty big as well and that would be full with anything like 20,000+

From memory the 1964 VFA GF had 26,000 and the 1965 25,000 both with Port playing
The other 4 biggest capacity grounds were Brunswick,Coburg,Elsternwick Park (Brightons home ground now VAFA HQ) and Prahran.

The 1997 grand final had about 10,000 people there and it was pretty much packed, from memory.

12,000 would be maximum the North Port ground would fit these days. Saturday's crowd would lucky to be 4000. Willy v Box Hill crowd will be about the same as Port v Dogs at 4000 ?

6,5000-7,000 and it's time to shut the gates at North Port Oval. Health and safety laws mean they can't cram in any more than that.

If you're going on Saturday, get there well before the opening bounce to - as they say on TV - 'avoid disappointment'. Might as well enjoy the Development League Grand Final.
