Hope Ch7 doesn't dump the VFL in the haste to get Womens AFL on TV
You would doubt that would happen - I think they are happy with the ratings and having a few weekends with two games covered hints that they are satisfied with having the VFL.
37 times Grand finalists
16 times premiers
21 times runners up - THE MIGHTY BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN,
I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED,
I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the AFL wants the Womens Comp on TV it will happen, either on Ch 7 or Foxtel or maybe both just like AFL now
Seven haven't taken a punt on the VFL, it is a commercial arrangement that nets them a financial return. So while the money is coming you'd think CH7 will be there.
And yes, the women's league will definitely be on TV, with the comp running February-March you'd think it will piggyback on the AFL pre-season comp.
The women's comp is only for six weeks in FEB/MAR next year, but what will happen is 2018 & beyond? I would imagine it will develop into a full season eventually, so how will CH7 & Foxtel accommodate the AFL, VFL & women's comp? Interesting times ahead .....

I think that the womens competition is going to be a massive plus for the political correcct AFL who are about to pour millions of dollars into to ensure that it is a success unlike the input into the VFL.. !!
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Agree with you Digs. It may well mean less money to the VFL.
No VFL coverage in rounds 18-20 thanks to the stupid Olympics. http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?client=1-118-0-0-0&sID=9164...
I believe that's why they were doing two games per weekend for a few weeks there (which was really good).
It's a shame they couldn't just move the VFL to a sub channel, but all of there bandwidth/channels will be taken up with the Olympics.
I haven't had a chance to check the last quarter of today's game yet, but i heard that the game ran long and the coverage got cut off. There must be something about Werribee because the same thing happened a few years back when Williamstown played Port at the same ground and the ABC ran into the same situation. But on that day the game went right down to wire.
