15 Frankston 11 0 11 0 0 636 1348 47.18 0

What are your thoughts on who might go into the final 8, and who are likely to slip out.

I think the top 4 will all be there, although I think Werribee might drift down somewhere between 5 and 8.

I believe Port Melbourne can push in there, possibly at the expense of Casey, which adds extra importance to the clash between the two clubs this week.

1 Box Hill Hawks 10 8 2 0 0 926 644 143.79 32 (standout so far and one to beat. Could be vunlerable if the likes of McEvoy don't play in finals but has good depth in both seniors and reserves)
2 Williamstown 11 8 3 0 0 1094 817 133.90 32 (Been super impressivee besides one hiccup against Box Hill. Definate threat to Box Hill if they can control Box hill's talls)
3 Essendon 11 7 4 0 0 1034 828 124.88 28 (Been good so far this year but with what is happening with Essendon in AFL could be heading downwards rather than up)
4 Werribee Tigers 11 7 4 0 0 1029 869 118.41 28 (Enigmatic to say the least. Great when on song and very average when off game. Anywhere between third and eighth ?)
5 Sandringham 11 7 4 0 0 997 906 110.04 28 (Has improved this year especially with Clint Jones and Brown. St Kilda players are putting in more. St Kilda coach Alan Richardson is old fashion and does not mind the grass roots level as he even coached East Burwood. Good chance for top four and certainty for top eight)
6 Collingwood 10 7 3 0 0 825 787 104.83 28 (Has won quite a few close games and plays well at Victoria Park. Still has some tough game. Anywhere from fourth to ninth)
7 Footscray 10 6 4 0 0 1047 703 148.93 24 (Massive percentage but looks like it is not as good as last year. Would not right them off as yet but will need top four to progress further)
8 Casey Scorpions 10 6 4 0 0 802 707 113.44 24 (Plays ok and in mix for finals. Lot depends on make up of team and big game this week against Port could set up year one way or other)
9 Port Melbourne 10 6 4 0 0 974 895 108.83 24 (Been competitive but has missed personel through injury. Could come home hard at the back on of season. Players could be raring to go and fresh or the reverse could be lack of game time. Too good to dismiss though)
10 Northern Blues 11 4 7 0 0 945 946 99.89 16 (Got slaughtered by the dogs and came from a 157 point win against the dolphins to a 103 point loss a week later. Not good enough for finals)
11 Geelong Cats 10 4 6 0 0 781 934 83.62 16 (not as good as once was. Will be more than nuisance value than finals bound. Will win games depending on the day and make up of team but finals not likely)
12 Richmond Tigers 11 3 8 0 0 888 973 91.26 12 (Closer to last than first. Competitive most games but can throw in shockers like the loss at Werribee)
13 Coburg 10 3 7 0 0 695 921 75.46 12 (Improving and can win a couple more game)
14 North Ballarat 11 3 8 0 0 689 1084 63.56 12 (Very disappoining. Hopefully they can finish well for Fitzy)
15 Frankston 11 0 11 0 0 636 1348 47.18 0 (Likely to be winless unless flukes a home win which could be either Coburg, Essendon or Geelong ?. If the dolphins happened to fluke a win the crowd will be partying for weeks !!)

9 into 8 won't go. At this stage it looks like Casey and Port Melbourne might be the two fighting it out for the final spot in the eight.

Round 13 is too early to call a game an "elimination final" but Casey v Port Melbourne is a classic 8 point game. If Casey win, Port might find it very hard to make up the lost ground. The Borough play Williamstown again and 3 of its last 4 games are away at Sandringham, Whitten Oval and Victoria Park.

Sandringham and Collingwood have relatively kind runs home and will most likely push into the top 4. On the other hand, both Williamstown and Werribee have tough draws, playing 6 of their last 7 games against teams in finals contention.
