No thomas for richmond will hurt. Good test for tommy goodwin against hampson. With Casey losing door is open for the burgers. Good start is the key for Coburg.

Another win for the Burgers, that must be 3 or 4 on the trot, they might sneak into the eight which would be a mighty effort.

Is that the last round digs? Could be a play-off for 8th spot, at Eureka or Coburg? What a turn-around in the Roosters form since Fitzy's 'sacking'.

In a game which never reached any great heights, the Lions started well and were never headed as they won every quarter for the first time all season. Poor kicking into/for goal in the first and third terms prevented Coburg from winning by 10+ goals as the lacklustre Tigers butchered the ball time and time again. Our pressure on the ball carrier was back to its best, and this is why we are the only club outside the 8 with a chance of unseating Casey.

After losing to them at Cranbourne by 8 points in June, we will be hell bent on reversing that result next Saturday.

If successful, then slabs will be sent to Trevor Barker Oval with "best of luck" gift cards whilst we trek out to Eureka Stadium in the last round. If four on the trot becomes 6, and we make the finals, whichever team finishes 5th will be shytting themselves.

A good finish to the season and a finals appearance/win will make Coburg more attractive to potential recruits for next season. I would think young players from the northern suburbs would rather play there then in the magoos at Carlton's VFL side.

Due to a vastly superior percentage, only Casey could finish 8W-10L and still hang on to 8th.

Coburg is the only team outside the 8 which hasn't already lost 10 games. Roosters are 7-10 with one match to go. We are 7-9 with two to play and could finish 9-9.

Have to beat Casey and North Ballarat, and hope Sandy does the right thing in rd 20 and doesn't cough up a home game to the Scorpions going into the finals.
