North Ballarat Coach 2016

North Ballarat will need to restart their process to find a coach after the final 2 candidates pulled up.

It is David Loader(gone to North Melbourne) and Gerard Fitzgerald(now unavailable) were those candidates.

Amazing to think if true that Fitzy has knocked it back. He must have something big in the pipeline if that's the case.

It's been a strangely handled one....from both parties.

My understanding is Fitzgerald's manager has been in discussions with a few local clubs about a proposed two year arrangement where Fitzgerald would be coach, recruiter, secretary and do other admin duties, but clubs I know of dropped off very quickly when made aware of the cost.

North Ballarat's board have looked wishy washy throughout this process. But I do think they've made the right decision. I think Fitzgerald has been terrific for the competition, but 2016 marks a new era for them as a club and a new coach should be part of that.

As it stands all three North Ballarat Clubs - the Roosters, the Rebels and North City in the Ballarat league need coaches. There was some early speculation that the North City coach who stepped down was heading to the Roosters but that was quickly dismissed - he would be more likely heading to the Rebels.

It doesn't really look like they've made a decision at all. Sack Fitz, go through replacement process, Fitz becomes preferred option, make an offer to Fitz, negotiations break down, start process again already into October. Incredible, especially at a time when stability is needed.

Paul,
You've nailed it correctly. My mail is that Fitzy will be named coach of the Northern Blues within the next couple of days. Unsure of the tenure at the moment.

Good to hear Gerald going to another VFL club. I hope he brings a bit of Preston falvour back to the Northern Blues.

Brendon Bolton coaching the seniors and Gerald Fitzgerald coaching the reserves, some would say they have it the wrong way around.

Some might say that fitzy is a legend. Go and tell the powers to be at Nth Ballarat.
They have done this process wrong in my eyes.

Remembering fitzy will be instructed on what game plan is being used if he's at the n blues.
I hope if fitzy is given the Job at N blues that he talks skipper Brent bransgrove into playing on. Two quality people right there (captain & Coach)
