North Ballarat accommodation

Hi folks.

Can anyone recommend any accommodation for North Ballarat ? Looking for something for the footy obviously so don't want to be too far away from the ground. Rough prices would be great. I believe that town is pretty close therefore cabbing it from there should be affordable.

Staying at Digs house is out of the question as we will be arguing all night about who has the best stand alone team, who has the best facilities who has the best scoreboard and even who has the best burgers.

I'd recommend staying closer to town than the ground, as you said it's a short cab ride and it's good to be able to walk home from dinner etc in the city centre where all the action is.

The ground is not that far away from town. You could walk in in 30 minutes. Good exercise after a few ales. You can also grab a decent meal there at the ground before the game. Western bulldogs will be playing it's first official game at the ground next year against either adelaide crows or port adelaide. Rumour has it digs will be tossing the coin.

I used to stay at The Red Lion for work trips but that was many years ago.

Very little chance of that VFA. Well & truly on the outer after my support for Fitzy. The current administration would not have a clue as to why it is necesessary to toss the coin. I believe the Red Lion is still a good place to stay although it is couple of K's from the city centre. Good meals, TAB & is run by footy people.

By the time you wait for the bus you could be home !!
110 kilometres from the Port ground which takes 1 hour 15 minutes to drive.
Big trip obviously go some of you city slickers !!

Not really 100 ks is about my average daily commute so it isn't too big a deal its just that we want to spend time at your lovely town and make the most of being in the bush.

Bus is a good option to get to the game....then just shell out $10 for a cab back to the city for dinner after the game
