Why???,Frankston have gone it alone and survived and are hopefully on the verge of turning it all around,Coburg have stuck it up everyone who said they wither and die

Why???,Frankston have gone it alone for years and are now on the verge of turning their fortunes around,Coburg have stuck it up everyone who predicted their demise,i see no reason with some hard work why the much more affluent Sandringham couldn't do the same.

Interesting to see what other Sandy people like canhillclarry, zebra etc think about what looks and smells like a sellout.

Unfortunately it looks to me like a Hawthorn /Box Hill arrangement. The biggest issue has been the number of St Kilda listed players playing in the seniors. The plan to have the restriction lifted virtually makes this a takeover. St Kilda have been pushing for this all season due to having a small injury list. You cn put all the spin you like about it, but it's about money. St Kilda can't afford their own VFL team. Sandy will struggle to go stand alone.

What's annoying is that we recruited some pretty handy players this season planning for going alone in 2017. Now the players aren't silly. They'll see that the opportunity to play senior footy with this new arrangement will be zero and as a result I would think that many will leave to play elsewhere.

Of course nothing has been signed off yet, but I doubt Caroline Wilson would be quoting Matt Finnis and Danny Corcoran without getting her facts straight. She's not that widely liked, but she usually gets it right.

It's a pity because the last couple of years have been the best of the alignment after the Ross Lyon-Scott Watters debacles. Paul Hudson has been brilliant as a coach and has really embraced Sandy. You wouldn't know that he is actually an employee of St Kilda.

I have no idea how this is going to pan out. At the moment it's just week by week and see what news filters out.

I have no gripe with St Kilda. But if Sandy play in a St Kilda jumper then it'll be curtains for me. And quite a few others from people I've talked to

Wilson has been a bit hit-and-miss in recent times, the Hird being sacked story either completely wrong or well ahead of its time, depending who you ask!

Of course, a journo is only as good as their sources, and you wonder whether this is St Kilda trying to put pressure on Sandy to sign, vice versa, both happy to leak details or an unhappy party trying to make it public and put pressure on the Zebs board not to sign?

Whichever way, giving up playing home games at Moorabbin, playing in the Saints jumper and control over selection doesn't seem like much of a deal to me. Having said that, while it is described as long-term, we all know these agreements can come and go as circumstances change.

If the Sandringham Football Club are forced to morph into the St Kilda FC as Box Hill and Preston have it will be the end of my interest of over 65 years following the club

You would think the Sandringham Council would have a say on this as they own TBO and Sandringham FC do represent the municipality at the highest state level.

As I have said before I would of course prefer to go it alone in the VFL but if thats not possible drop down to a lower league and at least keep the club intact

Dont tell me Sandy would not be able to continue on alone in a less expensive environment.Yes many of the the overpaid officials would have to go but the basic infrastructure including a very good social club is there to have a successful local club involved in the local community.

The decisions made by useless pricks such as Gerry Ryan & John Mennie in moving the allignment from Melbourne to St.Kilda has completely stuffed the club. Also John Mennie being too useless to even try & go it alone says plenty about the disgraceful person he is. I hope he pays his debts before he moves on.

Have a view by all means KH but you should probably withdraw the above before you're sued for libel.

It is sad that KH stoops so low. I thought we had rid ourselves of such low comments. I don't support Sandringham but will defend John Mennie to the hilt. He has worked tirelessly for the Sandringham FC for as long as I can remember. KH......what have you done to help? Unless you delete and apologise I will see that John is aware of your unnecessary tirade. And Gerry cannot defend himself - disgraceful behaviour.

Apart from Mennie who is no doubt thinking of his pocket which is being paid by the fee St Kilda pays to Sandy Dont get me wrong he has done a good job in past years but IMHO he has been in the job on on the Board way too long (33 years)in a pretty cushy job for which he would be on at least $100,000 a year and then you have johnny come lately Corcoran who has a mostly AFL background at Essendon.

Mennie should have retired gracefully when he reached 70 but now looks like he will be leading the club to oblivion in a few short years - not a good legacy.

Suggest you get your facts correct KH before you start writing garbage like that. Melbourne instigated the change. Not Sandy. Melbourne came to Sandy and said they wanted to go to the Casey area. John Mennie has been a tireless worker for Sandy over many years. If anything, the club owes him not the way you pathetically describe it.

Make an allegation like you have-then come up with proof
