Deeply saddened to hear of the death of Ross Booth who was such a warm and genuine person as part of the ABC commentary team alongside regulars like Phil and Sam.
I hope the VFA/VFL do something to mark his death this week.
Very sad news. Have known Ross since 1987 when he was part of the new clubs committee for the VAFA when my club Richmond Central FC joined the VAFA. Ross was an icon for the both the old VFA as well as VAFA. Very good commentator and was well respected by many. Ross, Phil, Sam and Peter Gee. What a great quartet of commentators over many years.
I remember Early days as a kid down at the Port Ground trying to sneak into the ABC commentary Box looking at all the camera's lights cables and just thinking how amazing all this was and then trying to get my face on TV behind Ross fantastic days.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.
