I'm a big fan of night footy, and Im rapt Casey will switch the lights on this week. BUT...is the place ready for it?
I was at their practice match vs Sandringham a few weeks ago. There was not one outside light in the car park...and there were a couple of hundred people there. I assume Saturday night the crowd will be in the thousands. Which means overflow car parking will be used. And the overflow car park is in an open cow paddock, with pot holes and dangerous obstacles everywhere. Will it be lit properly?
Then the crowd control will be interesting. People of Casey and Frankston love a beer - count the drunks. How many security guards will be present?
And traffic flow - I'd be betting the cops set up a booze bus somewhere just outside the venue. Which has the potential for further disaster post match. It could be like Arctic Park reincarnated.
If someone from Casey is around, can you assure me all the above will be satisfactory on Saturday night?
I wouldn't be insuring the place, I bet there will be a lot of issues.
