Council knocks back Hawks request
Body:
Had a read of an article in this weeks Whitehorse Leader regarding Box Hill's request to have sole tenancy of the Box Hill City Oval. Apparently the council knocked back the request to boot out the cricket club. As a VFL supporter, my view is that City Oval is below par in certain areas - particularly when it comes to shelter. I hope this is improved. One area that the club was successful in was having the cricket wickets moved off the oval in a years time - and from memory these have been a major problem in early rounds over the past two seasons (including forcing TAC Cup matches to be moved). From memory the council will fund the oval being resurfaced in four years time. They are also going to pay for something else but I cant recall what it was. Did anyone see the article, or do they have any other information?
