I just got an email from my friend Martin Duffy in Tasmania. Now Martin runs Duff TV which is the official videographer on the Tassie Devils and Tassie u/18's in Tasmania. He sent me a link with a 60 second clip of some highlights from 2001. Be warned - it contains alot of my crazy commentary, BUT for those that don't like my commentary, turn it down and you'll see Tassie in their first jumper in the VFL plus some snippets of the Murray Kangaroos. A little unexpected flashback at http://blip.tv/file/583106/ Thanks Duffy! Pete.

I have actually checked out the duffy website which includes some local games from tassie. You can find a lot of local stuff on you tube. There is some classic sanfl matches including the 1971 GF as well as sinippets from 1950. No VFA footage found as yet on youtube.
No VFA footage found as yet on youtube.
I have a look every now and then and still am suprised none has been added, I suppose it depends who has got access to some tapes, and just how many tapes are remaining...
What was your job when you were doing this in 2001?
Back then I was calling and taping games for Duffy. Duffy use to produce a "Tassie Footy Show" on Saturday Mornings on Win TV in Tassie. (with Mark Stone as host) Now I worked on the Melbourne end for Duffy. When Tasmania played in Victoria we would hook up a digital recorder to the Camera of whatever guy was videotaping the game for the VFL. I would then hook a microphone into that for the commentary. After the game the Digital tape was sent back with the team to Tasmania. The Footage would be used on Monday Night's Win TV News and Highlights also played on the Saturday Morning Show. I had been friends with Duffy since 1999 when for awhile he lived in Victoria (back then I was working at good old Forges of Footscray). In 2000 Duffy produced "Footy Fever" the WRFL (the old FDFL) Footy Show when it used to be an hour long and on Wednesday Night on Channel 31. He also taped Division 1 and 2 WRFL games which I still think he has a few copies off and may one-day put on-line (including the in-famous Port Colts punch up between themselves in the Plem Final). Hope that answers the question! Pete.
So go on - give him a call... Peter.
