Interesting to see Round 1 of the VFL (March 24/25) will be the week before Round 1 of the AFL (except for the stand alone GWS v Sydney game)
Good move by the VFL in my opinion, the weekend between the NAB cup final and AFL round 1 was a bit of a dead weekend with lots of people keen for the footy. Its a perfect opportunity to the VFL to take the spotlight and good on them for using it this year. Hopefully it will continue.
I use to find that with the VFL often starting Round 2 of the AFL season it would get 'lost' in all the AFL coverage. Hopefully staring the wwek before the AFL season will get greater exposure for the VFL.
Any word on when the fixture will be realesed?
The fixtures should be out within the next 2 weeks. I think they would have drafted a potential fixture by now. Hopefully it will be the end of Ethihad TURD DOME as a Grand Final venue.
Time to take it back to Princes Park for 2012. Wonder if the vfl fixtures will have Port's ground listed as North Port Oval for 2012, that is unless a new sponsor wants to rename the ground.
