Port Melbourne season 2018 player movements
Body:

Season 2017 saw the Port Melbourne player movement thread being probably the most successfull thread of the season  with it reaching 15 + pages.  Due to its popularity I have decided to create one for this season as I expect it to have some interest - especially now that Port Melbourne are the premiers and are keen to defend their title.

So far in outs we have - Hugh Sandilands - a valuable and great contributor to the club who played several seasons with the borough - a two time premiership winner and was always there in crucial games. Very versatile as he could play both in the backline and up front. Will always be remembed as a great club man who served the club well with his years of service and will be sorely missed and a hard one to replace.

Brodie Murdoch - one season at the Borough - had a good season overall but probably fair to say he was let down by a performance or two. Will like to see him replaced by another big body in order for the team to maintain its size and not have the problems it had a couple of years ago when they couldn't match it size wise with some of the teams. No matter what they say - size does matter !

The big out - Chris Cain - Chris was on the verge or retiring and weighing up his footballing future at the end of each of the past few seasons but season 2017 sees him finally pull the pin after a successfull season, retiring on a high. Will always be remembered as the one that should have been given a shot at AFL. A great club man serving the club through several seasons and 2 premierships,  being very consistant and having a cool head under pressure and a club life member. Will be extremely hard to replace at this level and will go down as a great in this generation of Port Melbourne players. Feel priviledged to have been his player sponsor for a couple of years.

Their are other outs of course but as far as I am aware these are the three big ones thus far. Recruiting depatrment down at North Port have a challenge or two to fill these spots and it will be interesting to see who the ins will be.
