Port Melbourne playing our first proper game under lights on Friday night!
13 degrees with a low of 7 and 80% chance of rain. Up against a Tigers line up that has notched up solid wins.
It could be a miserable old night.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Not a fan of this fixture, i think the time slot is all wrong, middle of winter on a Friday night - what could possibly go wrong ? The only thing that might save a embarrassingly low crowd is perhaps some Werribee supporters will turn up. Should have played it last home game of the year. Port Melbourne fixturing hasnt been great this year.
I think we are headed towards the smallest home crowd this season - hope im wrong.

Mega.. Don't talk down this historic event. I am treating Mrs Blackrocker to a big night out at Nth Port and a light beer after the game..
I am keen to see how good the lighting is.
Looking forward to heading up to Southport tomorrow
start of a big month of interstate trips for the dolphins
Safe travels Robbo, and hopefully come back with a win...
Good morning from Southport great day for footy heading to the ground shortly just had breakfast with a friend
Southport were too good for Dolphins today. They are a very good footy team.
Southport 16-19(115) def Frankston 4-11(35)
I didnt think the Dolphins were as bad as the scores would have you think. They were competitive all day in general play, (interestingly, 5 of the top 7 possesion getters on the ground were Dolphins) but let themselves down with skill errors, too much handball and poor disposal. Frankstons forward line is a major worry, it was pretty well non existant again on Saturday. What this team wouldnt give for a key forward. Every week they try either Duman or Williams at full forward and every week it doesn't work. Surely that idea will be put to bed now. Have no idea why Lambert played in defence, and with Begley now seemingly a permanent defender the forward line looks impotent.
They missed Reidy in the ruck, Frankston were slaughtered in the hitouts and clearances.
Southport looked very good. They are not overly big or quick, but are very skilled and play to a really solid game plan. Pretty happy with myself for taking $11 early in the year for the premiership!
Dolphs play Geelong next week at Skybus, another tough test,.
Big weekend is over after timekeeping VFLW Preliminary Final at Port Melbourne this evening
