Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the site over 2017. I sincerely hope that 2018 is a wonderful year for you on and off the footy field.
Unfortunately not a lot for me to look forward to in 2018 but thanks very much for your running such a great site.
Port will continue to remain a difficult side to beat for the flag once again & i will have difficulty finding some barbs to keep the one eyed supporters at bay.
All in good fun as some of best friend are Port fanatics.
Great job once again NorthPort & looking forward to getting to at least one game next year.
Regards to all.
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Best wishes to all for a happy healthy and prosperous 2018. Hoping the Dolphins can make good progress during the year and win a few games.
Thanks to David for your efforts in running this site.
I would like to add my thanks to North Port and wish all the best to all for 2018 Sadly the amount of posters seems to be slowly drifting away
Lets hope we can pick up a few newbies in the coming season which like Digs Im personally not looking forward to very much with the Sandringham FC really only the St Kilda seconds.
First year in a long time I wont be buying a membership Ill still take an interest in the club but my heart wont be in it.Let St Kilda pick up all the tabs if they want to run the club!.
Happy new year to all and thank you for running this site, a site that I always look forward to visiting to get information about this "interesting" competition.
In regards to Port Melbourne, I think that we will be fine if injuries are minimal but obviously not expecting as strong a season as 2018. Theirs a few sides id expect to get the flag before Port but if injuries are minimal, who knows ???
As for the decline in participation of posters on this site, I think that is a reflection of fans preferring to use facebook rather than forums. Port for example has at least 4 supporter pages. Forums were popular before facebook was around but they have decreased in popularity as facebook has killed off several online programs. I don't think that the lack of posters has to do with the competition losing interest as the competition has been pretty stable in the past years - viewer ratings are up as compared to a few years ago, memberships are up significantly at most (if not all) stand alone clubs, some clubs such as Port Melbourne getting increased attendances. Id love to see a increase in forum activity but I can't see this happening.
Again happy new year to all posters, all the best of health and happiness to you and your family and of course COMMON MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE!!!!!

THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I can understand the concern that some supporters (Sandringham in particular) have about the future of the competition. The shift towards an AFL Reserves comp with North Melbourne (who have recruited well by all reports) tempered somewhat by Frankston rejoining in 2018.
Regarding the decline in participation on this site, I'm well aware of people predominantly moving over to Facebook as their way of reading and posting about VFA/VFL news. Im giving some thought about adding a Facebook comments.
I think some of it comes from being time poor, or just laziness. I'm looking at ways to make the site easier to access, such as removing the need to register an account. I know that I don't spend as much time on the site as I would like.. And I'm running it!
I also think this is a great site for talking about not just your own club, but other clubs and the competition in general. Facebook doesn't really present that option.
We are an unofficial VFA / VFL website made up of long time and new supporters of clubs from the Victorian Football Association (now Victorian Football League)..
There are currently 2 users online.
