No footy in Melbourne this weekend accordint to the sporting media = a disgrace!

As usual the so called Melbourne sporting media have fallen for the line that there is no decent footy on in Melbourne this weekend.

Of course they are promoting the sheilas game at the Westren Oval and the unloved Storm match plus the pathetic E J Whitten giggle fest  which I predict will get more people attending  than all the VFL games combined because its promoted to the hilt by CH9.

Where are the people at the VFL promoting the fact that there are   4 VFL finals games on?

There is plenty of local footy on this weekend. Forest hill trying to win their first flag since 1984 coached by martin stillman. Efl 1st division four teams left are even. Balwyn, vermont, rowville and noble park. Kinglake playing in second semi final in yvmdfl. Games all over the state. Plus of course 4 vfl finals starting this weekend. Who cares about ej whitten circus game. Was ok in first few years but would not watch in a fit. No interest whatsoverer. Fair enough its a fundraiser but not watching a circus. Always watch local footy show on ch31 which is a real grass roots footy show. For the media to say there is no footy they have no idea.

The NEAFL games are worth a look.  Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans reserves, Peel Thunder, Aspley etc...Very good standard of footy and quite a few familiar names. Its on Digital free TV Ch 34 and Foxtel NITV Ch 144.

All VFL Supproters need to keep informing the media of our presence.  I was disgusted that Gerard Whately totally ignored the VFL finals in his sport discussion on Monday morning on 774 with Jon Faine.  I messaged him.  If there is to be a conspiracy theory!!!......ABC peeved they lost the TV rights to 7 and hence no mention of our finals.

I will be onto Faine again if no mention is made during his Friday session with Peter Gordon!!!

Get on the bandwagon VFA die-hards!!

My disappointment was expressed to Gerard Whately that we didn't mention the VFL final series on his programme with Jon Faine on 774 on Monday morning.  Is it the fault of the VFL not promoting outself or the disregard of the media?

The VFL final series are way better than anything else going on in the state this weekend and they barely create a ripple in the media.  Look at The Age and the Herald Sun this week.........so many more important stories than the finals of the best state football going around!!!  (sarcasm!!)

Let's hope that AFL supporters follow their VFL teams in droves to Carlton, Port Melbourne and Casey - and let's hope the games are as good as we all expect.

Go Seagulls - #We Stand Alone

sorry about the (almost) double post!!!  But you get my drift....

Spot on Seagull90. The way the clowns in the media are acting you would think there was only the AFL that existed.  Now they are trying to pump up the circus EJ whiiten game plus the womens game as if ther were no other football in the state of Victoria. Disgraceful !!  There are 4 decent VFL finals on this weekend and clowns like Gerard Whately think there is nothing on when the AFL  have a bye.  Yes definately worth getting stuck into them.

The two morning papers have good spreads on whats on this weekend in sport and yes the VFL does get mentioned

Looks like someone might have whispered in their ears!

Good work Billy !!

Some publicity is better than none.

Hopefully there will be a decent spread in tomorrows paper and not some drivel of 3 paragraphs about some AFL hacks like Spangher having a run for Box Hill seconds.
