Collingwood losing by a point is  priceless. Was watching it at the bayswater pub after the rowvillle v noble park gf. You could have not  scripted it any better. Southport to win today tops off a good weekend. Let's hope the sharks can do it. No reason why not.

It looks like a half decent crowd with a lot of Melbourne fans in attendance so far!

There is no crowd figure posted for the VFLGF but 5 - 7K  would be close you would think.

The last 5 GFs have averaged about 13 K and I see Melbourne are perpetuating the myth (to keep Casey Council happy who spent millions of ratepayers rates on building the shithole at Cranbourne) that their VFL seconds side is actually Casey/Springvale. So what happened to the Casey Scorpions? LOL!

Mrs & I attended the GF.   The crowd was mostly Melbourne (1sts) supporters looking for a consolation prize. The game turned to a fizzer in the 3rd Q.. the supporter area was restricted to the Legends Stand, a few were allowed into the other areas. The presentation was set up for TV, well away from the main crowd. Not a memorable GF

We stood on the wing northern side of the ground. Pouring rain for majority of game and it felt like no more than at the ground 5000 at max. Southport were ok in first quarter by battled after that. Wet did not help. Wont be the last time we see Southport in a grand final. They'll learn plenty from their first full season in vfl comp.

I have heard a rumoured figure of just over 4000 but nothing from AFL officially yet.

If that figure is true then it will be the 2nd worst crowd to a vfa/vfl grand final is history

(Lowest 2300 Coburg vs Northcote at Melbourne Showgrounds in 1934)

I didn't realize the basically only the Legends stand was open so 4000 might be about right!

I think t the AFL will not want to mention the tiny crowd! I see that over 3000 were at North Port for the AFLW match yesterday and there was a reasonable crowd at Sandringham Beach Road Oval for the VAFA Premier League GF that was shifted from Elsternwick Park due to that ground being in very poor condition.

I'm going to watch Seville v gembrook cockatoo at woori yallock gf on Friday. Playing in the outer east football league grand final. Moved from Yarra Glen to woori yallock as Yarra Glen ground likely to be flooded. Probably get a bigger crowd than vfl gf.

the VFL GF didn't even rate a mention in the ABC News sports report on Sunday night - the women's footy did of course!

Watched Seville v Gembrook Cockatoo GF at Woori Yallock. What an awesome day of local footy. Would have been over 6000 to 7000 people there. For atmosphere and real grass roots footy absolute shits on any VFL game I have been to this year. Both sets of supporters were as passionate as it gets. Gembrook Cockatoo won by a few goals. Former Port Melbourne, Box Hill and North Melbourne player Michael Firrito at 39 years old was outstanding. Very enjoyable day of footy.
