If Carlton beats Collingwood the final eight stays the same. Southport will reclaim second spot looking as Southport host coburg and Brisbane play Casey. Won't be going to any vfl finals games. Only chance if Southport play in Melbourne. All other games no interest whatsoever. Without a vfa club in it would not give a hoot on afl reserves teams play each other. I'll be watching local finals. Eastern footy league, and outer east football league.

Bad luck for Port who would have made a lot of money selling those "Burough Burgers" and grog!

After a push from coaches and fans, Essendon and Hawthorn’s inaugural AFLW clash in round one has officially been moved to Marvel Stadium, the AFL confirmed on Sunday.

The game was originally scheduled for Port Melbourne’s ETU Stadium (North Port Oval) but sold out in less than two hours, putting pressure on the AFL to move to the game to the larger venue after such high demand

Our fault, the positioning of the events centre has resulted in alot of wasted space. Should've built it further back. Still wouldn't have given enough room to host this game.

I agree the Social Club at North Port does seem to be located in a strange position and too close to the boundary fence and way too low with a very small viewing area at the front for patrons.

It should have been built further back and the design is not appealing as well being very dark and brooding.

The best social VFA/VFL clubs in Melbourne are Frankston, Werribee, Williamstown and Sandringham.

Box Hill is one you forgot to mention, nicely elevated with long balcony.

Frankston awesome,  double story,  a few bars, spacious and great view on 2nd level, Werribee very good , great viewing of the game but ild say Frankston over Werribee due to its capacity, Sandringham excellent with great views and a relaxing outdoor area overlooking the bay - need to trim the trees and bushes though, had a much better bay view when I was there previously- 2016 ?

Port hm yeah ok - serves its purpose, its good without anything overly appealing or being a stand out. Initial plans were a double story, when plans had changed should've moved it a little back, higher on the hill to get better views. Port fans grateful for getting a 2nd bar/function centre but probably not the best in the competition like a opposition supporter told me after it was newly built.

Ports one should have been built to fit between the Norm Goss Stand and the Kiosk buildings.  So its glass viewing area sat up behind  the standing room there.  The entrance to the ground could then have been upgraded to be part of the ground floor, with a function centre in an elevated position.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

That is where it was originally planned to be.  I don’t know why it was moved.

Coburg’s new social club in the rebuilt grandstand is really good. Worth a look to anyone visiting next season
